“Water smelled so bad couldn't shower in it and staff was rude about it”

I have family in the area so we go up several times a year. We were thrilled to find Econo Lodge was reasonably priced and perfectly located for us. We looked forward to making that our place to stay at least 4 times a year. But we will not be back. The water smelled so bad coming out of the shower and sink that it was hard to brush your teeth in it and impossible to shower without getting nauseated. When my husband reported it at check out, the front desk employee made excuses and was rude. She made no attempts to try and make it right. When I e-mailed the manager, I did not receive a response. Sadly, we will be unable to use this hotel and will have to go elsewhere.

I apologize for your dissatisfaction. In reviewing my emails, I am not finding any relating to this matter. Please contact me by telephone so we can attempt to rectify this situation and so that I may have adequate information to deal with the staff member accordingly.
Due to being on a well, we do periodically experience a sulfer smell in our water. We are currently in negotiations to hook into the new Blair Township water system which should eliminate this problem.
Again, I apologize and look forward to speaking with you.

“Easy In/Easy Out, good breakfast, clean rooms.”

This was a nice hotel. Just down the road from the mall, less money than others, still has a pool/hot tub and free breakfast. Quiet and clean.

“Looks like new management did not help much here”

Received a call the morning before our arrival stating our room was "under renovation" and would we accept a non-smoking doiuble queen room rather than the king room we asked for 5 months ago. We had no problem until we arrived. Appears that Econo Lodge figures a non smoking room is the same as a room that reeks of years of smoking, then turned to non smoking by law. Tried to get the room changed but was told they all were assigned. Odd that all rooms were assigned, even those "under renovation". Can't open the windows, no screens. Pets allowed, don't worry about cleaning up after your pet there, no one else did. Want to sleep in an ash tray? Stay here. We didn't.

We regret that unforseen circumstances at a time of 100% occupancy made this guest's desired room type unavailable. Our cancellation policy was waived to enable them to find accomodations that met their needs. Within minutes of their departure, this room was re-booked. The guest who actually stayed with us was quite happy with their stay and booked a future reservation upon check out.

“Terrible service”

Me and my wife stayed here, the people at the desk don't have a clue about running that place. We had a room on the second floor it was 100 degrees in our room cause our a/c didn't work. I couldn't open the window cause there are no screens. Told the management about the a/c but he had nothing to say so i talked to someone in the morning and said they'd look into it. You would think i would get some sort of refund, but No... Don't stay there.

We are sorry that you did not not enjoy your stay. All a/c units have been inspected (and are inspected on a regular basis) and are in proper working order.

“ENJOYABLE AND VERY AFFORDABLE”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2009

My wife and I stayed at the hotel and was inpressed with everything. The front desk staff was very nice and knowledgeable of the area and very customer friendly. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool and thought it to be clean. I thnk this hotel has had some unfair remarks regarding it from other people.
