The Sturgis Knight’s Inn is a total disaster (Similar to Katrina Hurricane) area as of 8/17/2006.
The pictures (30/40 years old) on the internet of the motel are completely misleading because the
outside and Inside are not in agreement at all. The building (outside and inside) has not been
painted in years. There three entrance and exit have broken doors pumps thus anyone and/or
critters could enter the building. Several screens broken and several rods hanging in windows.
There were many shingles missing from roof, thank mother nature it did not rain while we were there…unfortunately, it has rain on other people because the rooms smelled very bad of mildew.
There were no lights on in the parking lot...very scary. Also, several construction and truckers
watching us while unloading luggage…extremely uncomfortable. The motel room door locks
were installed with residential locks versus commercial locks…unsecured. Once we were
established in the room I barricaded the door with a chair and slept with one eye opened all night.
The sofa pillows were all ripped and smelled. There were 5 unwrapped roll ends of toilet tissue
supplied, which we did not use. At the foot of the bed was bloodstains and no blankets provided…unbelievable We did not drink water from faucet (drank bottle water) nor did we take
a shower…tub was orange – unsanitary. The TV remote did not work because no batteries. The
pool was out of order, however, I noticed comments from other customers that the pool was not
available earlier in the year and last year as well. I highly recommend not staying here unless
your looking for the worst motel in the U.S.A. It’s obvious the management has not invested any
monies for maintenance and improvement in many years. I can’t believe the state of Michigan has
not closed down this so-called business yet. Shipshewana, IN is a nice town to visit not the Sturgis,
MI Knight’s Inn. We had two other couples with us that have the same opinion about this motel. This
motel is a truck and motorcycle stop – Do yourself a favor don’t bring your wife and family here. Harry

I had a reservation for a handicapped-accessible room at this hotel. When I arrived I found that I could get into neither the office (not accessible) nor the room (ditto). There were no grab bars next to the toilet in the room and not enough room to try to get my Amigo into the room. We cancelled and had to look elsewhere at the last minute. When I called back to talk to management they were abusive and unsympathetic -- took no responsibility for customer service at all. Avoid this place at all costs!

I stayed up in sturgis MI in January 2005, when we went up there for a wedding. This hotel had the best price in town and clean rooms compared to 2 other hotels that I checked around in the area. I would suggest anyone to give this hotel a try for a clean room, freindly service and a great price. Thumbs UP:)) I think there was a new mgmt at this hotel:))

When we arrived at the motel the first thing I thought was FREAKY! we were outside unloading the cars and a bunch of dirty construction workers were stareing at us, it was very wierd...When we arrived in the hotel all i thought was DIRTY!!!, When we got into the room it looked like it came out of the 70's plus it had an awful smell to it, their were bugs in the bed and cigarette holes in the sheets... The keys to get in the room are just a normal house key which would be easy to break into... The bathrooms were unsanitary... that one night i was in that place i didn't sleep at all... I didn't even wan't to sit down on the chair, bed, or floor.., I would highly recommend not staying here it is AWFUL!!!
