Just returned from our over night stay i n Stevensville, Mi. Went thru Priceline, This is an older motel in a very convenient location. The section we stayed in was completely remodeled with everything new and clean in the large room. It has been under new management for the last few months and changes are already evident. This at one time was the hotel to stay in and it's great to see it is being restored to it's former glory. Spring will include new exterior paint and landscaping and hopefully the outside pool will be opened. There is also quite a large, newly painted indoor pool with hot tub that looks ready to be filled. There are washers and dryers and a game room.
We did have a few ants in the bathroom as this part of Michigan everything seems to be on an ant hill. They do spray often but it's an on going problem in the whole region. The lady at the desk appriciated that we told her and said that many just leave and won't come back. But really, it's not a huge problem, just a little anoyance that they will responde to immediately. There prices are great and we will stay here again.

This hotel is under new management so I believe many of the repairs have been made. I didn't see any of the issues people talked about in previous reviews. The room we stayed in was clean, freshly painted, nicely decorated and modern, linens were new looking. There was a good sized refrigerator and microwave in the room which was unexpected. I've payed a lot more money for a lot less room in other places. This was a "visit the family" weekend so we weren't looking for a fancy resort experience. The hotel is close to town, the lake, restaurants and the highway but no, not within walking distance. The staff was superb and interested in our experience being a positive one. I have nothing negative to say about our stay and will stay here again in the future.

It claims to have a spa and swimming pool which were both under renovation;

The location is poor, the service worst and the the breakfast was miserable...

My wife said that it looked like those motels that you see in the traditional american movies when serial killers are doing their job....

We were just taking a weekend getaway and wanted someplace to spend the night close to where we were planning on having dinner. We were a bit dubious about booking here as some of the reviews were pretty bad. We decided to chance it as some of the more recent reviews were more positive remarks. When we pulled in to the office area to check in we were worried that we had made a mistake. However, when we got to our room we were most pleasantly surprised; it was spacious, clean, everything worked and it was inviting. The bed was comfortable; there were plenty of channels available on the TV, the in-room climate control was easy to use and effective. It appears that the place is being refurbished - externally there's a ways to go, but our room was just fine. If you're looking for the "Ritz" skip it; if you're looking for an economical place to spend a comfortable night or two, I'd recommend it.
