After one night at this hotel, I should have asked for my money back and found another! We had paid for two nights. The following morning around 11:00 AM we were asked to leave. When I inquired about this, I was told we had only paid for one night. After an hour of explaining the situation and showing my recipt. The manager finally agreed. Later that evening around 7:00 PM the same thing happened. Only this time they booked new people into the room and insisted that we leave. Another hour of explaining to the now manager on duty and we were finaly able to stay. I cant imagine what the problem was when it looks like the front of this place is occupied by street people and people looking to party. Shortly after departure I caontacted the corporate office. They were not much help at all. I did not ask for any reimbursement or stay vochures but they acted like it was no big deal. When I mentioned that I will NEVER stay at another Knights Inn anywhere. They simply said okay that is your choice. The management was rude. They hardly spoke English. The room was dirty and most off all we did not feel safe. I would not recomend anyone to stay at this establishment.

My company HAD to place me here when there was something big going on in the area and no decent hotels around Memorial Day Weekend. My room smelled of smoke, but also smelled like this gut wrenching burning smell of crack. There were many shady characters coming and going, baseball caps and "body art" and piercings, looking perhaps to either buy or sell drugs, there was constant action in and out of a variety of rooms. I also did not feel safe as a woman, as there were several "call girls" roaming around, and none of them looked too healthy with scars and marks on their faces and arms and legs, scary!

Here is a record of my experience when staying at the Knights Inn Motel in Sterling Heights, Michigan on June 5th and 6th, 2010.
1. The first room to which I was assigned was a SMOKERS room.
2. The second room had three light bulbs burned out,
a. The bed was partially turned down.
b. A pair of women's high-heel shoes was next to the bed.
c. The telephone did not operate.
3. The third room was a SMOKERS room.
4. The fourth room had a dirty Jacuzzi.
All the rooms were minimally clean (dirty).
Sunday night I ordered a wake-up call for Monday at 4:00 AM, which never came.
I was told it wasn't answered, not true, as I am a light sleeper, it never rang!
I am a semi-retired, experienced world traveled business executive.
I have NEVER had anything comparable tothis type of incompetent, unworthy, miserable experience in the 50+ years of travel!
