“Excellent value, family friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

My best friend and I took my two boys to see the Wolverines play in Ann Arbor, and we wanted to stay overnight and we chose this property in Detroit's Southfield suburb.

The property is attractive and fairly modern and upon our arrival we received a very friendly check in and were directed to our room.

The hotel has an atrium style lobby and as we arrived in our room, we found a two room king suite with a fold out sofa, which was very well appointed and clean. Amenity wise, it had a big screen tv, fridge, wet bar, iron, iron board, coffee facilities, etc. Exactly what you would expect. The kids loved playing in the room as we had a couple of beers and caught up on the college football scores.

We went down to the manager's reception, there are nachos, salsa, crudites, chips, popcorn, cookies and snack foods which the kids loved, they had free soda for them and Miller Lites for the adults. Apparently some guests make dinner out of this.

We ate at the restaurant, great service, food was ok to good, tasty but not superb, but happy with the value for the price. Breakfast in the morning was good, but the lines are long, but the guys at the griddle do a good job getting everyone through, worth leaving them a dollar or two tip for the amount they work.

I will return to this location when we come back next year for another game.

“Good Hotel, Watch Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

This is an above average hotel. Check-in was smooth. Watch out about getting a room up against the freeway.

“Good Service - room location important”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past few months. The rooms, beds, and bathrooms have always been clean, and I am picky about such things. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Joe, who runs the shuttle to the airport, is extremely nice and warmly greets guests as they come into the lobby.

“Emphasizing the positive....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

This location has plenty of parking, and staying on the top floor provided quiet sleeping. The manager's evening reception offered more than the typical Embassy Suites. The breakfast was ok. Lots and lots of elementary/middle school-aged kids the night we stayed there, and they made the breakfast experience quite loud. The building's interior is in need of a serious remodel. The carpet is very worn, and wallpaper is peeling from the hallway. I thought this Embassy Suites would be near Greenfield Village/Henry Ford Museum, but there are lots of other hotel locations closer.

Room Tip: Ask for the top floor away from the elevators.

“Good Service counts !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

What a pleasant surprise. The embassy suites are off the main highway not too close to the center but, they made up for it with above standard service and a huge, fully-loaded suite that made my stay there very welcome and comfortable at under $100 a night including a well stocked bufe breakfast. The front dek checked me in swiftly and invited me for a cup of fresh coffee even though their restaurant was closed. Small but welcome gestures such as this make all the difference to me and, as a result, I highly recommend this establishment.
