After reading the other post, I was scared to have learned that this was where I had reservations. I arrived about 11:00 a.m. and check-in wasn't until 3 p.m. however the nice young lady at the front desk told me that since I was there on business and had an important meeting to attend that she was going to go ahead and let me check-in and get freshened up. I was put in a room on the 5th floor. An earlier post stated that locals were living in the hotel on this floor...that is definatly not true. Yes the hotel is old dating back to the 70's. But the entire lobby has been refurbished, and the elevator has been replaced with a new up to date Otis elevator with cherry wood panneling. The carpet in the hotel or at least the floor I was on had been recently replaced. I know this because I could still smell the odor of the carpet glue. My room was newly remodeled, and smelled very clean. The bathroom had all new fixtures and great water presure. The new management of the hotel, who is operating the hotel as a private property are really turning the hotel around. I was told that Ramada was going to be dropped at the owners expense because of his/her unhappiness with Ramada...who could blame them. All and all this hotel is not bad, it is old...but it is very up to date with the latest amenities and free wireless internet everywhere in the building. Give this place a chance, you won't be disappointed!
