My husband and I stayed in this hotel because it was the closest hotel to our family's lakehouse. We were not expecting much at all but we were extremely disappointed in our stay. When we arrived, we were checked into a room that smelled of smoke. We had to switch rooms. We were moved to a bottom floor room and when we came back to the hotel to go to sleep that night our key card did not work. The guy at the front desk appologized for the inconvenience. He said they had not recorded the room change. The hotel room was so dry we had to run the shower for a long time and leave the water standing in the tub all night. I was literally coughing for several hours due to the dryness. The real problem occured the second night of our stay. At about 12:30am we woke up to hear someone else putting a key card into OUR DOOR and attempting to open our door. Thankfully, we had deadbolted the door and the person was not able to enter. This was extremely frightening. My husband called the front desk and we were told that it was a mistake. We were upset by this especially because the front desk had made a mistake the night before with our keycard. We noticed there were only 7-8 cars total in the parking lot that night. And the hotel managment could not figure out who was in each room? We were barely able to sleep after the situation and sad that this was the way we spent Christmas night. In the morning ,the manager of the hotel gave us a $10 discount. This was unacceptable after the night we had just had.
