“Christmas Sanctuary”

We love the Maplewood Hotel during the holidays! The inn is decorated so tastefully and we always enjoy a warm, crackling fire in the large common area in the evening with a glass of wine. Our room also has a fireplace and a jacuzzi tub. We like to think of it as our early Christmas gift to each other before the hussle and bussle consumes our days. The shopping downtown is festive and fun and there is always something to enjoy like horse drawn carriage rides, caroling on the streets, warm cider, coffee and many nice restaurants to choose from. A good nights sleep and up for a delicious, beautifully plated breakfast in the dining room. I always purchase a gift certificate or two from the Maplewood to give as gifts to those I love. You can't go wrong at the Maplewood Hotel!

Room Tip: All rooms are nice, however, we go for the King Suites.

“A Sanctuary for Our Wedding Guests”

Two years ago, my now fiancé and I stayed at the Maplewood Hotel for a relaxing weekend getaway from the city. Not only is the location steps away from the downtown activity; but we really enjoyed the onsite amenities including the pool and patio areas along with the convenience of a delicious breakfast each morning. Our experience was so positive that we reserved the entire hotel for our wedding guests!

“Lovely weekend”

We had a wonderful time at the Maplewood Hotel with our friends from Chicago. We were warmly greeted, which set the tone for our weekend. The receptionist was able to call ahead and have our name put on a list for a Friday evening dinner at Everyday People's Cafe where reservations are not accepted. Thanks to that call, we only had a 5-10mi. wait, not too bad for a popular restaurant on a busy Friday night! Our room was well decorated, we had a warm fireplace and an immaculate bathroom with big fluffy towels. The bed was really comfortable and what a great sleep we had, it was so peaceful and quiet. The breakfasts that were served were delicious. One day we had a baked french toast with all sorts of side dishes, fruit, yogurt, etc. and the next day we had a spinach and ham quiche, all served on Lennox china. The owner, Catherine, could not have been any more welcoming. We shared some great conversation and she gave suggestions on what to do while in Saugatuck. We know we will return to the Maplewood again, not just because of the amazing accommodations and ambience but also to see Catherine, Cynthia, Clarissa and the rest of the friendly staff.

Room Tip: I'd suggest selecting a room with a fireplace, it's worth it.

We totally enjoyed our stay at this beautiful old hotel. It's a fabulous location for enjoying the town and walking to the waterfront boardwalk. We were upgraded to a nicer room at the lower price since they were not full. We would definitely recommend this to friends.

We just came home from a very fun and relaxing weekend at the Maplewood Hotel. We truly enjoyed our stay and felt so welcomed the minute we arrived. The breakfasts were delicious and creative and it was wonderful eating on the glassed in porch.

The hotel is well maintained, clean and very charming. It is located right in the heart of town and the owner and staff were a delight to meet and get to know. Each room is unique and beautifully appointed.
It was quiet, peaceful and all in all a wonderful weekend!

We would highly recommend staying here!!!
