“This motel is a dump, would never come back .”

First off the hotel lobby had no air conditioning and it had to be atleast 90 * in there. The clerk on duty looked miserable. I get checked in to a room on 2nd floor a/c is turned off and room is hot and smelly. It took over 2 hours for the room to become comfortable. Then we have no towels in the room, I went to desk to get some and they did not have any. The clerk had to go to a few rooms before she found 2 complete sets of towels. The motel has not been maintained and is run down and worn out. Worst experience ever at a Red Roof Inn. Will not be back to this location.

Room Tip: Look at the room before you check in.

“Good for a cheap place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2011

Nothing here to blow your mind. The room was clean with an unusually long hallway from the door to the sleeping area. The AC was great once it was rolling (they had it off and it was 85 degrees in the room... took it an hour to get below 70). It's old, but I felt it was pretty clean. The counterperson was very friendly and helpful at 1:30 am, which was a huge help.

“Never again!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2010

After reading reviews about this hotel here and on a few other sites, I felt comfortable booking a night at this hotel. Our flight was not due in until midnight, so I had called twice to confirm there would be no issues with our room. When the shuttle pulled up to the hotel at 1am there were several people loitering outside and in the lobby. They had given our non-smoking king room away and we were given a non-smoking queen. The room smelled of smoke, there were dirty towels on hte floor, no toilet paper, and the blanket smelled of smoke and was covered in ciggarette burns. To top it off, the guests in the room next to us were in and out of their room every 5 minutes slamming the door.

My husband and I slept horrible and could not get out of there fast enough.

“Okay to stay for the price you pay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2010

The room was very large and nice, It had a mini fridge. The hotel had a disappointing breakfast it was limited to coffee, juice and mini muffins. The service was okay, however, I was mildly alarmed when we received our keys and headed to our room only to find that someone was occupying the room. When we went downstairs to get a new room the young man at the front desk said it was the maintenance man who stayed there and they never tell him which room he stays in. It made me feel weary about leaving my valuables in the room, but I did and it was fine! The location of this hotel was kind of strange, it was behind a Best Western which made the hotel entrance hard to find at night. Overall, if you're on a tight budget and need to stay somewhere near Detroit, this is an okay place to stay.
