Due to an Air France strike, one leg of a long international itinerary was 4 hours late and I arrived haggard and exhausted to Detroit only to find that I would be enjoying an evening next to the Detroit airport here at the Best Western Gateway International Hotel.

The young woman working front desk was extra friendly and helpful and my room was spotless, the internet lightening fast, and the bed comfortable. This is the nicest room I've been put up in by an airline and I've had my fair share.

The entire hotel is 100% non-smoking now and if I have to overnight again when flying through Detroit (or would like to break up a long itinerary) I would stay here without hesitation. Recommended.

Stayed here several times and have found the cleanliness and maintenance has deteriorated considerably over the years.

Stayed here one night out of convenience (late flight into Detroit and wanted a hotel close to the airport). The staff were very friendly, the room was clean and quiet. For the price ($65), I think the property was very good. The breakfast buffet was not bad, and the entire hotel seemed to be clean. I would not hesitate to stay again if I needed something close to the airport.

Had to stay here for a business trip. Nothing really special. Hotel does have a very akward layout and it took me and my business parter 10 minutes to find our rooms. Hotel bar is not price-friendly. Food in morning isn't too bad. A/C unit is very noisy. Entire hotel could use an upgrade. Shuttle is very prompt though!
