“Bring your own toilet paper”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2011

Several families stayed for a wedding and we had multiple problems. The most troublesome was the front desk refused to give out toilet paper.....having run out and did not know where to get it or was not allowed to call a manager after 10pm..unbleievable! After a thunderstorm the carpet was wet ( sloshed when you walked) and upon reporting it to the front desk there reponse was....so??????
Rooms were not cleaned every day . Only upon request.
Unpleasant stay for some of the families. On writing letters no one seemed overy concerned at any of these items. Definately would not return...or at lease with cleaning supplies and my own toilet paper!

“A+ for service, the staff are so lovely and helpful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 July 2011

We stayed here for 3 weeks while my son had 3 weeks intensive therapy. I can't praise the staff enough. Any issues we had they were on it right away. The breakfast is outstanding and the light supper is great too. We had a 2 bedroom suite with full kitchen which was roomy and clean. The wireless internet is a bonus too. Great positioning. 5 minute drive to the supermarket. Buger King, Zoup, Dairy Queen, Thai and more was a 5 minute walk. 15 minutes drive to a great outlet shopping mall called 'Great Lakes Crossing outlets' a must to visit. We'll stay here again for sure. A+

“Don't Stay Here”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2011

The buildings are not connected. If you want ice, sodas, snacks -- anything -- you need to go outside, which is not ideal in freezing weather. We are a family with 2 young children and using the pool was a nightmare. It was too much bother to get everyone up, dressed and outfitted with hats, gloves, etc. so we didn't even make breakfast. I'm surprised that this was not mentioned in any other reviews. I truly hate to give such a low rating because the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The hotel was very nice, clean and conveniently located. I'm sure if you stayed here in warm weather (with no rain), the hotel would be much better.

“Residence Inn- Comfortable and Warm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2010

Located amidst the quite and peaceful surroundings of Pontiac, Residence Inn, Marriott is definitely an ideal place to stay for singles or a couple in Pontiac. The only noise that you hear around is of sparrows and other birds chirping all day. Residence Inn is a sensibly clean place with comfortable rooms and friendly, ever-smiling and helpful staff. I would not advise it for more than 2 people in one room as the bed is a queen-size bed but there is adequate room otherwise. There is a kitchen, a study, dining and living area and the bed room is separated. We have already spent 1 month here and have not got bored of this place at all. There is a pool, a gymnasium, a place to sun bask (though, the sun was hardly visible to us in this rainy season), and a separate pet area. They provide breakfast (which is not that bad, at all!). I am happy that I do not have to wake up early to prepare breakfast. :) They also have social hours in the evening from Monday to Wednesday where they serve dinner or rather supper that keeps you going for some time. To talk about the exteriors, there are pine trees around the property and adequate greenery. It’s a little away from downtown but you have some good Italian/ Thai/ Mexican/ Japanese restaurants and some fast food joints at walkable distance. The supermarket store is 5 minutes drive from this place. What else would you need? :)

“Great place, clean rooms, friendly staff...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 March 2010

Whenever my husband and I head over to Michigan for a weekend getaway, we stay here and love it.

Staff (manager, front desk and kitchen) are extremely friendly and helpful. Our rooms are spacious, and have always been very clean.

The complimentary breakfast in the morning is a nice treat (coffee, cereals, eggs, sausage, bagels, oatmeal, muffins, yogurt, etc.).

We will be back!
