We stayed on the 2nd floor, which the hallway smelled of stale/covered over cigeratte smoke but the room didn't (thank goodness). It was a pretty typical 2 queen bedroom w/ desk, the bed was fairly comfortable but the pillows weren't. It was surface clean but the sheets didn't have the hotel bleach smell that makes me feel like the sheets are clean. Not that I really like the smell of bleach but I want to know the bedding is clean. They had the old school flowery comforter that I didn't want to sit on or pull up near my face. I think all hotels should have all white blankets & comforters or duvet covers. We had a fridge in our room that worked well but the turntable on our microwave was broken & I tried to pop a bag of popcorn and it burnt a hole in the bad w/o really popping the popcorn. I had to go down to the breakfast area to pop a new bag, which was a little weird because a group was having a pizza party in there but the staff told me I could go in and use the microwave. The breakfast was typical continental breakfast but the juice seemed decent for a machine, not watered down like a lot of hotels. They only had fake sugar yogurt, which I don't do. It seems like they could have offered both kinds. The breakfast area didn't feel very clean but it was busy so maybe they couldn't keep up?
I would stay here again if other hotels in town were booked up or were too much money but I would bring my own blankets & pillow.

I had not made a reservation but this is a place I have stayed at many times. When walking in I asked for Allen Morely whom I have always had the pleasure of not only making arrangements with but found to be a great asset to this hotel. I was informed that he no longer working at this hotel. I coule see the difference in the lobby. It was not clean nor did it have the pleasure smell of cookies baking or a smiling face behind the counter. I found the grounds to have cig. butts everywhere. I stayed at this Super 8 every time I was in town which was often. Petoskey is one of our famiies favorite places to visit and this was at one time my favorite place to stay but NO MORE! I did not even register for I found the person behind the counter not to be friendly or happy to even see me. I do cannot say if the pool or rooms where like they once were for I never went that far. And to think I went out my way to stay here for it is not on the main road...I drove back down to the main road and stayed in a what ended up being a much friendler place. Good Luck Super 8 for in my book you are now Lame 0.

The desk staff was wonderful. They even showed us to our room as they brought us extra supplies. They talked with my young children and made them feel comfortable. My children have food allergies and the staff helped us check labels during breakfast. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Large, clean rooms close to skiing and entertainment. Staff very personable and willing to accommodate any requests. Breakfast buffet and clean pool area all make this a great place to stay when traveling with teens.
