My family attended a University of Michigan football game last fall and were looking for a reasonably priced, convenient hotel for the weekend. Hotels in Ann Arbor are obviously priced atrociously high - or have extremely limited availability - on football weekends. After researching options on TripAdvisor, we decided that the Staybridge in Novi was a reasonable alternative. The price was right and located within easy reach of Ann Arbor. We didn't regret our choice at all from a logistics standpoint. It was an easy 30 minute drive to Michigan Stadium on Saturday a.m.
Overall, we were extremely pleased with this Staybridge Suites. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, the room (a suite w/ kitchen/living area in one room, bedroom in another) was configured great and had enough room to comfortably fit a family of four. The refrigerator and kitchen were great tools for those looking for a cheap dinner option (a grocery store within a 2 minute drive...Kroger, I think.). The pool area was clean and large with a nice hot tub. Breakfast options were great...no complaints about the food at all from the kids. My wife used the exercise facilities and was satisfied. This is a very nice, newer facility that feels warm and comfortable.
My only minor complaints were that the whirlpool wasn't entirely functional on the weekend we were there (the pool was warm, but the jets were not working...we were looking forward to a nice soak after a cool football day!). I also didn't agree entirely with the bed. If you read other reviews of mine, this isn't very surprising. I'm a very sensitive sleeper with back issues, so finding comfortable hotel beds is often difficult for me. No other family members of mine complained about the beds. In fact, they all commented on how well they slept! So I don't think my view should persuade anyone from staying here since my perspective is definitely skewed. I still rate this as an excellent stay from a family perspective and will definitely book there again for our next football game.
Room Tip: We faced the inner courtyard. I don't remember the room #, but we had no noise issues facing t...
