“A fabulous hideaway!”

If you're looking for panoramic views of sprawling vineyards, loads of fresh air and absolute serenity then this is definitely the place to be. An original centuries-old manor set in hectares of lush vineyards, this boutique hotel is beautifully rustic yet luxuriously endowed. Run by a young couple, the hotel offers great rooms that are traditionally styled yet well facilitated with every modern necessity. Further details on the hotel and Cognac can be availed athttp://www.azurecommunique.in/destinations.html

“A Very Special Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 April 2011

The Manoir is set in 14 hectares of of their own vines and surrounded by lovely gardens and the rolling countryside. There is a magnificent pool area which is even better in reality than it looks on their website.

The bedrooms are large and beautifully decorated in cool Scandinavian colours and the bathrooms are great. The public areas are a delight.

But the ultimate charm of the place is the owners Christophe Butler and his Norwegian wife Tone, a designer who is responsible for the striking decor. Together they have worked to restore the chateau over many years.

Nothing can be more relaxing than the leisurely breakfasts on the terrace.

From the moment you arrive you are made to feel part of the family, this is a very friendly, informal, casual place.

If you are seeking peace and relaxation in beautiful surroundings with gracious hosts this is the perfect spot. It is great value too.

Room Tip: The Best rooms are on the first floor.

“Lovely Hotel, with beautiful garden and pool”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2009

We stayed at Logis du Fresne for one night on our way to La rochelle. It is a beautiful old chateau with wonderful gardens. We had a lovely room which overlooked the garden, with an ensuite and freestanding bath. The breakfast was served on the terrace. This is a very relaxing place to stay, with a lovely pool, plenty of space, very attractive sitting rooms, plenty of books, etc. We would definitely stay again and have already recommended to friends who are going there next week!

“Five star accomodation at a three star price.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2008

If you want five star service and the price that goes with it then steer clear of of the Logis. The hotel is a working Cognac chateau run by Christophe and Tone. The building is pure 17th century outside and wonderfully renovated on the inside. The decoration and service are understated but just right- log fires and candles everywhere with enough space to make you feel that you are special guests in a family home- which is just what you are! Gardens and pool a delight, breakfasts on the sun filled terraces lovely. Nothing is too much. A great place to base yourself to explore Cognac, Bordeaux, La Rochelle. You won't find beter value anywhere and teh beauty of the place is breathtaking....

  • Liked — Beauty of building, comfort, style, location
  • Disliked — That we couldn't stay longer!
