We stayed at Punta Lara in the second week of July with our 2 young children. We arrived in the middle of a heatwave with temperatures hitting 43C !!! So the first thing we noticed was there was no air conditioning at the hotel reception with is in the main building wuth teh bar and restuarant. The room allocated was of a good standard with it being clean and tidy. A slight smell of damp but this soon cleared. The hotel itself was very clean and tidy with the pool area swept every day and the swimming pool cleaned aswell.
The food in the restuarant was a delight - outstanding in fact. We were the only British staying in the hotel at the time with alot of French, Belgian and Swiss guests. Everyone ate in the restuarant so we guessed the food would be good. Bar prices however were very expensive thus no one seemed to drink after dinner. Plus with no air con at times the heat became virtually unbearable. The complex it self was in need of some updating but overall we ahd a very enjoyable time.
