We have been guests here three or four times in recent years, and it makes a delightful stopover. The building looks like something from a picture postcard. It probably is! The interior has a magnificent wooden staircase, and the spotlessly clean, lovingly maintained rooms overlook the town square (front) or the quiet garden (back). Some of the ones at the front, which tend to be bigger, have balconies. There is secure parking at the back. The restaurant room is wonderful, and the food very good - although the owner seems to be something of an enthusuast for the many local sausages, andouillettes, etc., which may not be to everyone's taste! There are lots of other choices, though. The welcome is warm and genuine.

We stayed in this supposedly charming inn near Honfleur in August 2005. It featues in the Michelin Charming Hotels and Alistair Sawday's Special Places to Stay and in a number of French guides but it seems that one man's "charming" is another man's "basic". The so-called charm stems I guess from the fact that this was probably once an old coaching inn, with a sloping and rather dodgy spiral staircase to prove it. The mundane reality is that it was probably "modernised" in the 70s and is really rather tatty and frayed at the edges. If you must stay here ask for a room on the 1st floor overlooking the square (much bigger). The place is supposedly much vaunted for its well-cooked regional food but that also turned out to be a disappointment. Nothing special is about the best that can be said of our dinner. All in all a very disenchanting experience.
