La Maison, located in the small village of Blauzac, was a great base for exploring Uzès and the surrounding areas. It was the perfect mix of charm, location and hospitality. The B&B is a beautiful, stone 18th century home. Within just a few minutes drive, you can be in the center of Uzès but at the end of the day, easily escape back to the peacefulness of Blauzac.
The owners, Christian and Pierre, were gracious hosts. Conversations with them were the highlights of our stay. They always inquired about how our day had been and happily offered suggestions for that evening or the next day.
The rooms were large, clean and had an eclectic decor offering a unique mix of old and new. (We actually discovered that La Maison is featured on the cover and within “French Home”, a design book by Josephine Ryan.)
Each day, we were offered the option of enjoying breakfast in the dining room or in the front garden (we always chose the garden). Because Blauzac sits on high ground, the garden of La Maison offers amazing views of the surrounding countryside.
Overall, this was one of our favorite places to stay during our trip. Highly recommended.
