we have stayed there many times in the past, it has never been good value, but it has been a convenient location, this time when i telephoned to enquire if they had 2 rooms for our stay we were told 'yes, they did had 2 rooms vacant' so i proceeded to book, i was then asked what time did i wish to book a table in the restaurant, when i told them that, as we were visiting friends in the town, we would not be eating in the restaurant, i was told VERY firmly that they did not have any rooms free after all, when i tried to explain to them that this was bordering on blackmail, i was just told they have no rooms free and they put the phone down on me, what an arrogant person, so we found another B&B, 'La Gloriette', in town, fantastic, i did look at the Le Cheval Blanc menu when passing, it must be the most expensive in the area by far, so i can see the reason why you cannot book rooms without eating in, it more than doubles the cost of staying there, i also found out that this policy has been introduced by the new owners, not good marketing, especially when you read other reviews regarding the value of their breakfast and dinner, now i have found 'La Gloriette', never stay again at the Cheval Blanc, unless it gets new owners
Room Tip: the rooms are up a narrow winding staircase, which is very difficult if you have large suitcases
