“lovely stay in great hotel”

We stayed at the hotel for one night en route to our move to Italy. The room was a good size with a stunning view of the vineyard and nearby chateau. It was very clean and had nice toiletries in the tasetful bathroom. We had ordered cold cuts for our arrival which we enjoyed with a lovely bottle of red wine out in the patio area which was peaceful and very scenic.
The owners were friendly and welcoming, with great service. They even emailed us following our stay as we had left behind our son's coat and they offered to send it on to us.
We didn't really have much time in the area as it was just a stop off but it seemed nice for a short visit or to explore the local wine region.
Breakfast was provided and offered a good selection. For dinner we went to the local restaurant (I can't remember the name of it but I think there is only really one in the town). The food was good but the service wasn't great.
Overall a nice stay at a lovely hotel. We are planning to stop here again when we drive back to the UK in September.

“Brilliant location on Route de Grands Crus”

Half-way between Calais and South of France this is an ideal location for a stopover. Warm welcome from the owner who was helpful and speaks very good English. Our bedroom was on the third floor but the climb up the stairs was rewarded by a brilliant view over the vineyards to the Chateau Clos de Vougeot. The room was generously sized, clean, quiet and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was a delight and try as we might we could not do it full justice. The hotel does not do evening meals but there is an excellent restaurant just a short walk along the street - Le Clos de la Vouge. If the weather had been kinder we would have stayed for another night. We will certainly return to Vougeot next time we travel by car to the South of France.

“A small rustic well run hotel which was better than its two star rating”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2010

We found the hotel through tripadvisor and were not disappointed. The welcome by the owner and his advice about the area was outstanding. It is in a quiet but interesting location without the brash buzz ot tourist hotspots but an interest in the production of good wine is beneficial as the hotel is on the edge of a huge vinyard. The breakfast was typically continental and one of the best we had over our three week stay in France. The hotel has an extensive cave with a good variety if wine. The owners own wine was very reasonably priced.

“A great place to stay in Burgundy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2010

A charming village hotel with friendly, helpful staff. We stayed in a spacious, peaceful double room, simply furnished and overlooking the vineyards and chateau. The breakfast was a very complete and tasty buffet, quite rare for a French hotel. The manager allowed us to log into the hotel's wireless internet router in the breakfast room / reception free of charge. All in all a great option for 1 or 2 nights when visiting the vineyards of Burgundy and good value for money.

“A great hotel in a fabulous area of France”

My wife and I needed a central hotel to explore the vineyards of Burgundy. This hotel was excellent. The room was just 110 Euro per night and breakfast a very modest 9 Euro with plenty of choice. The terrace overlooking the vineyard was the most perfect spot for an evening glass of wine to unwind after a day touring the area. Local restaurants were excellent too.
