The hotel consists of a castle-like big villa, plus additional buildings in a very beautiful park.
Our room ("Natasha") was huge, with a large bathroom. The interior of the hotel and the rooms is very classic and in a good shape.
The service, performed by the owners of the site, is very family like and kind. The breakfast was great. Dinner is not offered.
The pool is quite small, but ok.
Although the site itself is very calm, some noise spoils out from the close by highway and railway. But it is bearable, if you are not too sensitive.
The whole ambiance of the hotel is beautiful, with a little bit of morbide elements, which often are typical for such french chateaux.
I arrived late but the lady on front desk kindly stayed up so we could check in. The room was clean and fairly pretty, but excellent value for money. It also seemed touch more personal than most, with a note on the bedspread politely asking us not to trmaple it underfoot - I prefer this approach than that they don't provide a bedspread at all.
I stayed only one night and didn't get a chance to try dinner, but the breakfast the next morning was excellent and it was lovely to have it on the terrace. The only minor drawback would be that the main road is a little too close (a persistent hum in the background) but the hotel is very good without being very expensive.
The setting for this hotel is wonderful and the approach to it is amazing. We chose this hotel as it was typically French, in a village and had a pool. We were travelling around the area for 1 week and had decided to treat ourselves to a stay at this hotel, which ended up being the most expensive of the whole trip. And we were disappointed with the standard of service we received, especially for the cost. Upon arrival, we were met by the owner in his workclothes unshaven, who didn't really have much to say even though we can speak French. He informed us that the pool couldn't be used which was a great blow as we had arrived there early to use it as it was a hot day. He didn't apologise especially as we told him we had selected this hotel on this basis. There was no conversation or interaction at all and for a rate of 130 euros, feel very let down. It isn't worth the money. The house is very tired. The pool was unclean, the pool beds and furniture were filthy. All in all, a very disappointing experience.
We staid in the room Olivia which is perfect for a family, but we also visited the other rooms of the castle (because it is really a castle with beautifull halls and a splendid garden). The furnitures are fantastic. We took our breakfast in the balsony in front of the garden enjoying the jams, fromages and cakes. We really suggest this hotel for a lovely and relaxing holiday.
