Stayed here in October for three nights while surf contest was on.

We had a car, which we feel is a must really for this area. Great secure free parking just inside the gates.
Short drive to the beach and the main part of town.

Room was large, with great bathroom. Luxurious towels, bathrobes and wonderful beach towels.
Lovely infinity pool overlooking the lake.

Nice touch of free soft drinks in the mini bar, refilled daily!

Did not use the restaurant however it looked nice with a view of the lake.

Very helpful staff who went out of their way to help with some printing difficulties we had!

Overall, not a cheap place to stay, but the price definitely is reflected in the quality of the hotel.

We stayed here for four nights in a duplex room. This consisted of the main bedroom with a nice balcony overlooking the swimming pool and the lake and an upstairs with twin beds (our children aged 4 and 2 slept there). The bathroom was really nice with lovely towels, bathrobes and toiletries (Hermes).

There is no air conditioning so the room felt hot at times, especially the boys room upstairs.

The mini bar was restocked every day with complementary soft drinks and water which was a nice touch.

Swimming pool area was lovely - always quite quiet and with a lovely view of the lake.

We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but we did have one lunch and one dinner. The food was very nice although the menu is quite limited.

The hotel is located in a beautiful position on the lake but you need a car to visit the town centre, restaurants etc - there is nothing within short walking distance. Also on the evening we visited the hotel bar it was empty - although it is really comfortable - I think people tend to go out in the evenings.

Overall a very nice hotel but I was surprised at the cost (my husband made the booking so I didn't know until I checked out). 300 Euro per night for room only seemed a lot.

This hotel consists of a big old early 20th century house on the lake which contains mainly reception and breakfast room with fabulous views. Ordinary rooms are very simple and located adjacent to main house. Ours had a lovely sunny terrace, and the mini-bar was restocked daily at no charge;a nice touch. Very clean, nice staff, very good breakfast though pricey. relaxing atmosphere.

This is a lovely place to stay in a busy area. The hotel is between the lake and the sea and you can walk to both and the nearby town, it provides the perfect base for the area. The hotel itself is charming, and the location makes eating breakfast over looking the lake a delight. If you are active you can get up early and do a lap of the lake (about 4 miles) before breakfast. There is a flat foot path all the way round. My girls took themselves the 500 yards to the beach every afternoon. Beware if you have very small children you might be better off letting them us the lake beaches as the sea has very large waves here and the beach shelves steeply. They hold surfing competitions here and you can see why. The town its self is very casual and surfy.
Apart from breakfast the hotel only provides a room service menu which can be eaten either in you room or on the terrace, however there are lots of resturants in the area and you can walk to them.

The staff are friendly and will speak English if you want them to. There are alot of other nationalities staying here and the atmosphere is great. The rooms do not have air conditioning but we did not find this a problem despite the hot weather. There are shutters that you can pull down whilst leaving the windows open, and alot of the rooms do not get the afternoon sun which is a mixed blessing - cool but it means your terrace is in the shade so you have to seek out sunshine by the pool or on the hotel terrace. A nice touch is the the supply of free drinks in the mini bar so there are always cans of fizzy stuff and water available. The bathrooms in the part we stayed in had just been re done, I don't know if this is true for all the rooms, but the showers were great and the rooms were kept clean and tidy by the maids.

I would choose this hotel if I had teenagers who wanted a degree of independence as they can walk and cycle on their own (there is bike hire at the hotel and in town) whilst affording a certain amount of luxury.
