We traveled to Muskegon with our 3 dogs, stayed at red roof inn because of its pet friendly status. Aside from the drinking parties going on, the running in the halls all night, people passed out in the hall, my dogs came home infested with fleas. To date, I have spent over $300.00 to remove the fleas from my dogs, car and home. Although we all enjoyed the dunes and the beaches, the aftermath has been a nightmare. If a hotel is going to label itself pet friendly, it should also be pet safe.

I stayed in the jacuzzi suite and it came with a couch and king size bed. The jacuzzi is in the room with the bed. This hotel is not perfect and could use some minor repairs (things need painted, drywall in hallway needs repaired, and the tv remote didn't work). Overall the room met our needs and I was able to bring my dog that most hotels would not accomodate because of his size. The breakfast in the morning offered many different choices and the front desk staff was very pleasant. I will stay here again if I travel with my dog. If you are in the area with your dog check out Norman Kruse Park. It is a mile or so of beach where dogs are allowed to run around off leash. It is right next to the lighthouse beach in Muskegon.

It is in a very seedy part of town and the clientele is a little questionable. That being said, the staff is very friendly. The rooms were OK (definately better than the hotel across the street). If you are just stopping for a night (like we were), it is adequate and the price was right. would not stay here for any extended period or time I would have to unpack my suitcase.

Very unsafe, we got in late and had no where else to go, we came in to stay for Michigan adventure, I was met by Local Police early am next day and told, " You rnot from around here, if you have a permit and a legal Gun, carry it, a Person was shot 2 weeks ago, 2 blocks over, Brian night guy was helpful he told us what areas were off limits for safety which was everything except the inside of our room at night. No vending, No Ice, Staff went into rooms after being told not to, This Place is very unsafe for families, bottom line stay in Grand Haven or closer to Michigan Adventure.
