Did not actually live there, but had a private apartment in León, and used to go up to El Convento almost daily for the air-con and their crazy good Limonada Imperial. The staff who work there are incredibly polite and service-minded, and after being there for 3,5 months (I'm not kidding, I basically lived there!), they were just as nice the first visit as the last visit. Do you hear that Denis, Francisco, Carlos, Auxmar, Ariel and Hernan? You do a terrific job!
You can hang out in the "living-room", or sit in the restaurant area, sipping on a limonade. The food isn't that good to be honest, but it really depends on the chef; sometimes it was great, sometimes I could have done it better myself. The coffee also isn't that good, but they have air-con, and the hotel in itself is just gorgeous, with nice, big couches and dozens of rocking chairs (real nicaraguan). They also have decent Wifi, which is something you'll come to appreciate greatly when staying in Nicaragua.
One of the best places for relaxing and having a drink in the evenings in León, if you're more into conversing and a glass of good rum, and not dancing and lukewarm Toña.
