Stayed one night at Wold's. Friendly staff, 50 bucks a night after tax, and clean room made this a good one. If you want frills, this is not your spot. If you want value and a pleasant experience, then stay here.

I read the reviews but it seems that different owners have taken over since some of the older reviews. We have friends staying there for a 3 week business reason and their king bed room was nice and large. My husband and I had a single queen size bed and what some would consider a small room. But considering that we were only in it to sleep and shower it was a GREAT value for the $ especially in a Casino and College town. On a side street off of the main road it was less than 5 minutes to CMU and Soaring Eagle. Yeah it could have used some more elbow grease in the deep cleaning area but overall was fine for what we needed and used it for. Even tho we were across from the office, it was very quiet and the room heat worked wonderfully as well as everything in there. If you are looking for a Marriott type of hotel, then this is not for you. But if you are looking for a place to sleep and shower for a very decent rate, this should suit you fine.
I was very hesitant to book, after reading the other reviews but I decided to give it a try since I'm alone and only need it for one night.
I'm glad I tried it. Sure, it's an older place, a "mom and pop" type place. But I was treated well on the phone and upon arrival. My name was spelled incorrectly by someone who had difficulties with English and initially took my reservation on the phone, so it took a while to check into my room. But, here I am. There is a small new room air conditioner, a small coffee pot, a tiny microwave and a small dorm fridge. The furnishings are dated, and there is a place above the bed with some hooks that is now empty, but it is scrupulously clean. I noticed some old stains that looked like burns on the countertop, but it's clean. Luckily, I brought my own pillow from home because both pillows on the queensize bed are completely flat. There is free hi-speed internet, and a clock and a small table and chairs in the room. It's very quiet, as this is on a quiet side street. There is coffee and rolls in the office in the AM, according to the sign at check in.
Definitely nothing fancy, but fine for the price of $55 when the Super8 is over $100. (It's a football game weekend).
I would stay here again, if I had a college student at CMU and needed a place to stay.
It's definately not a Marriott, but then it isn't a Hotel, it is a Motel.
It is older, but most Motels' are. I wasn't really sure what we would be getting into, but didn't have much of a choice since all the other Hotels were booked due to the Central/Western game this weekend.
Our room had newer carpet througout, and newer tile in the bathroom. The room was clean, except for one stray hair on the bathroom floor. I have stayed at high end hotels in Chicago, that have had the same, so I wasn't completely disgusted.
The couryard did need some work, but I wasn't there for the scenery.
All in all, my stay was pleasant and had no problems.
This place was so dirty and smelled of mold and old body sweat. The sheets were stained and littered with bugs. I have never been so disgusted before. Not to mention the guy must have said "you can trust me" more than 50 times. This made me so nervous. Never pay this guy with a Credit Card and I would suggest not staying here at all. We left almost immediately after checking in!
