The place seems to be in the middle of nowhere. It is car themed and I guess this one is a question of taste but wasn’t really my cup of tea. I had a room on the ground floor which was clean and comfortable. There is a pool and some paths to walk around. I found the place a bit too brightly lit and this being my first clear night in years on the southern hemisphere I had to drive a short distance away to properly see the night sky. Dinner is a set meal and you have some choices, and well prepared. There is inside and outside tables. I chose the latter despite the chilly evening since the indoors feel like a garage, or bus depot, due to the heavy car theme. Breakfast is buffet style and was good but nothing special. Staff is extraordinarily friendly and probably about the happiest I have encountered. The on site petrol station came in very handy.

We stayed here as part of an overland tour and were impressed with the accomodation. The room had a yellow/red/car theme and was very spacious. The beds had clean sheets and were comfortable to sleep in. The bathroom was also a decent size with excellant hot showers. There were plenty of electricity sockets to charge cameras etc.

A kettle and tea/coffee was provided but the room had no fridge. The buffet breakfast in the morning was good (eggs are cooked to order) and the restaurant toilets were clean. The bottle water was slightly expensive though. I would recommend this accomodation for anyone visiting Fish River Canyon.

The Restaurant at Roadhouse is as brillant for dinner as it is for breakfast. The (hot) showers and toilets on the campsite are spotless. Since we (stupidly enough) had not enough fuel, the owner was so grand to sell some to us. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. A special place in the middle of nowhere.
