Stayed for a night at the campsite - and was thoroughly impressed. The grounds are spacious and beautifully maintained, and all the camp sites are secluded with plenty of shade, ideal in an otherwise semi desert location. There's a small but picturesque swimming pool, a gallery with a display on the conservation work in the nearby Canyon, a gift shop, and a large restaurant decorated in a quirky style that's quite unique (including a motorcar fireplace, among other things - whatever you do don't open "Pandora's Box" in the bathroom!), with nice cakes and apple strudels on the menu.
The bathroom facilities in the campsite were spotless and by far the best I saw anywhere on my stay in Namibia; in particular there were lots of really good quality bathrooms and showers, and a fully indoor kitchen for the (presumably rare, in the desert) times when there's bad weather. Unusually for Namibian campsites the footpaths are paved and subtly illuminated in the evening to make it easy to find your way around. Service was friendly - all in all, we all felt this was by some margin the best place we saw in a month long trip, and it was a really refreshing place to stay.
All in all it's worth the detour - I'd recommend a stop at the cafe / restaurant even if you're only on the way past and looking for a coffee and snack.
