My husband and I spent 3 weeks travelling through Namibia. We stayed at the Canon Roadhouse for the last 2 nights of our holiday. What a lovely experience - from the very friendly and efficient staff, beautiful rooms, good food to the interesting decor and friendly horses!! I would definitely recommend it to my friends and I am looking forward to visiting again.

Perfect place to camp while visiting the Fish River Canyon. Ablution blocks spotless. Staff helpful and friendly. Power point and light at sites conveniently located at braai place which also has a table height ledge on which to put items.

I just loved everything about the Canon Roadhouse, we stayed 3 nights and had a perfect time. Our room was lovely, perfectly clean and we could watch the amazing sunrise from our bed. The whole place is beautifully decorated with old cars, also the restaurant / reception - I just loved this place. Breakfast was very good, a huge buffet and Dinner was yummy.
Of course, the place is remote, the fish river canyon is not quite around the corner (but still close enough) - but I actually just liked it that way. Landscape is breathtaking. We went to have a look at the other hotels in the area, which are more expensive and maybe more 5-star - but for us, these places where just not as charming as the canon roadhouse. I do hope, that some day I will come back.

Rooms were simple but comfortable and arranged motel style in the very pleasant grounds. The restaurant is more like a motoring museum so dining there was quite surreal, not the most comfortable dining room, but one not to be forgotten. The food was of good quality and portions generous. Well located for Fish River.
Worth staying here fo a couple of nights for the novelty value and the Ostrich steaks!
