“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

So close to Etosha park and the guides that come and take you around Etosha from here are very good.
Seems to be a bit of a large (often German) tour group type of place - and a bit hopeless for veggies food wise - REALLY hopeless . !! Service a bit variable, such a chore getting tea/coffee at breakfast !!
Nice grounds, and room was very modern and bathroom was superb but there is no room for bags and stuff , and the bedroom is very open to the neighbours unless you keep the net curtains shut all the time. Loved the pool and the Bar/restaurant area. Great food there !
Loved the squirrels !

“spectacular safari”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

okay, first things first. if you're expecting the levels of five star luxury that kempinski habitually provides in europe, you maybe a little disappointed. mokuti is deep in the bush and, with that, there are inevitable challenges. it is an exceptional property, make no mistake, and service levels are high. the general manager, chris, is also exceptional - he's a real dynamo with brilliant interpersonal skills.
good food and great staff are part of the package. don't miss its reptile enclosure, run by the inimitable 'stretch', which has a big number of venemous snakes.
the safari itself is good, too, with knowledgeable guides - happily, they found leopard for us!
strongly recommended

Room Tip: etosha suites are worth that little extra

“Missing the old Mokuti Lodge”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2011

We were looking forward to stay at the Mokuti Lodge, as we had stayed there already before, when it was still under Namibian management.
We were very disappointed.

When you take a really nice African lodge and turn it into a “business hotel” like Kempinski, you should at least get your standard right. To just change the name, delete all African authenticity and charge higher prices will not suffice.

The rooms were “renovated”, which means they look like thousands of hotel rooms all over the world. No local touch at all. They were very small and impractical. To use the phone, you had to throw yourself onto the bed and grab the phone from the ledge at the head end, which was far too high to use it as a nightstand.

The very nice open pool bar invited us for drinks, but at 6 pm it was closed and we had to go to the bar in the main building which is no comparison.

The Boma braai cannot be used by guests anymore, but must be reserved.

The buffet dinner and breakfast had a lot of things, but the atmosphere was – s. a. (as in hundreds of other hotel restaurants all over the world).

The service is likewise: impeccable but unpersonal.

What a great place the Mokuti Lodge was before, and how lacking of character it is now. If you are looking for just a place to stay and would like to have kind of Western standard, this is a good place.

If you are looking for an African experience, stay somewhere else.

“I would love to go again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011 via mobile

We where lost until the receptionist helped us to get there. The room was nice, bath room was stunning, I don't want to tallk about their service, the food was delicios, every thing was excellent except that wireless internet was not working also we couldn't pay with our credit card because their machines was not working, lucky we had a cash with us even if it was not enough to settle our bill and we where +- R 300 shot so we had to deposit the money on monday because we left there on sunday to go back to Cape Town (South Africa). The gym was beautifully, tennis court needs a renovation.Entosha park the tour guy was very very nice we so a Black Rhino, Leon, Zebra, Giraffe etc. Their price for alcohol was very very expensive. We had a good time me and my husband.

“Great location, beautiful grounds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 April 2011

The location of this lodge is great...so close to the Etosha gate. We booked two game drives through the lodge. They were very good with a knowledgable driver. The rooms were clean and rustic. The food was good and the grounds were beautiful. We liked the availability of a family suite with two large bedrooms separated by a central bathroom. We liked the fitness center with the views of the grounds.
