We stayed here for one night, on our way to Mackinac Island. We got there after dark, so didn't really get to see much of the hotel. That is partly why I picked this hotel, because I knew that we wouldn't be doing much, but going to sleep. The hotel is very run down and the staff, obviously hasn't been trained well. They were nice, but just not professional. Our room was very basic, but seemed clean. The beds weren't very comfortable, but they did the job. I always ask my family to give me their rating of the places that we stay and eat and this one was pretty unanimous. The only saving grace, was that the view of Lake Michigan in the morning was beautiful. I think the Holiday Inn did not want to do the obvious renovations that are needed for this hotel and that is why it got sold. Just my opinion. The floors squeak and the walls are paper thin. The fan/AC/heater was very loud and our teen had a hard time sleeping in the bed next to it.
