Staff would not check on the noise comming from the second floor. We thought we had cattle staying above us.

We are returning customers to this very comfortable, clean hotel. The staff is great - helpful and polite. Loved the cookies, coffee & tea. Enjoyed relaxing in the lobby and taking in the fresh air and breezes in long walks along the Lake Michigan shore - just across the street!

We met friends half-way on New Year's and stayed two nights; went to downtown Manistique and the casino. Found a deal online that included a free pizza and we were set! Warm sitting area with nice TV decorated for the holidays complete with tree. We socialized together in that common area and were never bothered by hotel staff. Facilities are not brand new, but clean and staff very friendly.

All we can say is that this is the best hotel we have stayed at in our journey across the country. My friend and I started in Seattle a week ago and have found varying degrees of service, cleanliness, and hospitality. In all areas, this place was superior. The service was so friendly and accomodating and the little details, from the coffee urns, piano, and old fashioned telephone booth in the lobby, to the nicely furnished rooms where EVERYTHING WORKED, to having 2 hooks on the back of the bathroom door (instead of none, like the last two hotels), this place just felt right. WIth a Biog Boy just down the street, the beautiful lake with walking trails right across the road, and the price point unbelieveable ($79/night for us with AAA discount), we can't say enough good things. Coffee 24/7, popcorn and freshly baked cookies in the lobby every night, quiet rooms not facing the street, clean and spacious laundry room, and a B & B feel around. Used to be a Holiday Inn Express, but was bought out by the current owner who updated everything and brought a sense of caring and taste to everything. No, I don't own stock in this place. It really is this enjoyable to stay here.
