Stayed at this older Super 8 on 10/18/11 to be close to ferrys, but a BIG mistake! Had to wait an hour for the room to warm up. The wind blew a sheet of metal loose from hotel, causing loud rattling all night outside our door. Luckily we had parked our car in next stall over or it would have been severely damaged. Tried to call the office twice, 4:30 & 5am but no answer. Next morning mentioned this to the young man at desk, & his attitude was "so what" we have insurance if there would have been damages. Told him the sink was plugged; again a "who cares attitude." Since we were the only ones there, we were told we needed to drive to another hotel for breakfast (an inconvience). Would advise never to stay at this Super 8!

We had room with beautiful view of bridge. Room adequate but dated. Beds were bad--cheap mattresses. Continental breakfast was meager and not very good. We've certainly stayed in nicer places for less money

We stayed here for 2 nights on Sept 9 and 10 this year. Upon arrival, we were offered an upgrade from a queen room to a king with jacuzzi. Definitely not an upgrade in our opinion. I think they gave us this room because they gave away our room. Building is suppose to be all non-smoking and you could still smell smoke in the room and bedding including pillows from when people were allowed to smoke in the rooms over 1 1/2 years ago. Disgusting. Then the beds were so hard, you could feel the springs when you got into it and the bed was very low to the ground.
The shower head was lower than 5' from the floor of the shower and I know this because I'm 5' and I had to bend down to get my head wet. Husband is 6'2", so taking a shower was not comfortable.
We were in room 214 and nothing was on the side of us, but all we heard was running water all night as if someone was taking a shower.
Went to the hot tub/pool building and there is actually a board missing as you are stepping into the hot tub. Not very attractive. The only good thing was that the hot tub was hot.
I have stayed at many hotels in Mackinac City and this one is not even worth being open. Super 8, Bridgeview in Mackinac City is sooo much better
The front desk staff didn't seem very friendly and they were very hard to understand. There are much better hotels on each side of this that we have stayed at and will again. Never at this place.

DO NOT BOOK A ROOM AT THIS HOTEL.
The reviews on Hotels.com weren't bad at all. Not sure why we didn't check TripAdvisor first. The hotel was filthy inside the room and out. We entered the room and began our check for bedbugs (the absence of which was the only good thing I can say about the hotel) and found some disgusting brown substance splattered on the wallpaper. It just got worse from there. The hotel offered a free breakfast, but after seeing the room, we wanted no part of it. We literally ran out of this hotel to catch the first ferry to the island.
