This is a great place to stay in Mackinaw City. My husband and I wanted to escape the heat so we hopped on the bike and headed north. We did not have a reservation but the pool was so inviting as we drove around town, we decided to check it out. Reasonable rates for all you get. The landscape was beautiful and the rooms were spotless. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. It was close enough to town that we were able to walk. Included was a very nice continental breakfast. There is a nice beachy park across the street where we witnessed a spectactular sunset under the bridge. Consider this hotel if you are heading to Mackinaw. You won't be disappointed.

Try the themed rooms. This is a great little motel. While the view of the bridge is slightly obstructed, there is a great little park across the street with the best view. Easy to get to and well worth the stay!

Not having a reservation we choose the American Boutique Inn by the outside being manicured and very pretty. We stayed in one of the themed rooms. Decorated very nicely according to the theme. Comfy mattress, very clean room and very helpful owners and staff. A very nice end of town to stay in. Go to a chain hotel if you want your room to look like everyone elses or stay in this lovely Inn with personal attention to everything. Also a plus, right across the street from Lake Michigan and about three blocks to the downtown area.

Is it just me? With all the "classy" sounding hotel names, the "Budget Host" sounded like simply settling for a hotel room that would save a few bucks. In reality, this is a really nice motel. The rooms are tasteful and clean...not cheap. The staff is excellent and very helpful. The location is one of the best "on the strip" in Mackinaw City.
