I stayed here with my wife and 2 children. They should be sued for false advertising. The picture you see on the website out front was either altered or was taken prior to the swamp moving in. Looking out our window at the lake was not a white sand beach as shown, but rather a swampy grassie area that stunk of fish. My children could not swim at the beach, but had to go next door to another hotel's beach to swim.
The room was musty smelling, as was the hallway and stairwells. There was no elevator, so of course we had to haul 8 suitcases up 3 flights of stairs.
The waterslides are not at the hotel, but rather down the street at another hotel that they have a deal with, you can imagine you have twice the guests, it was insanely busy.
The continental breakfast was also next door at another hotel (I believe the Clarion) although it was pretty good, just a pain to walk there and also again very busy. The price for the stay was probably comparable to the other hotels in Mackinaw, but was not worth value, sorry 3 out of 10!

Oh where to start, My family of 4 and my sisters family of 5 had booked the three room family suite on our vacation in July, when we arrive we were told our room had been damaged by a bunch of college kids which is understandable so they gave us 2 rooms on the 3rd floor next to each other. The rooms were dirty, they smelled like mold, the air did not work, the matresses were old (like from the 70's) they were stained just gross! You had to walk to a different hotel for your breakfast which you stood there for ever. This is just not a good set up, The price is way to high for the quality of room you get. I would not recomend this hotel for anyone.

Wonderful hotel with a good view of Lake Huron and Macinac Island. The Waterpark/Splashpad was great, especially if you have younger children. It can keep them entertained for hours. The pricing of the hotel room was very reasonable, and the rooms were very neat and clean; which is a BIG plus in my book. We will definitely stay here again.

We booked 3 rooms in August. From the street the hotel looks very nice. The indoor waterpark is more a water play area for kids. They do have a very big hot tub and a separate pool area. We ended up on the top floor and there is no elevators so plan on carrying your luggage up 3 flights of stairs. Our rooms were very disappointing. The entry and bathroom tile did not look clean. Bedspreads looked old. Patio door screen did not close properly. Very outdated in general. Some nice things were the view from the balcony. And yes the beach does not look like the brochure, lots of weeds and muddly area. Use the beach next door. The breakfast at the hotel next door was very nice and not far from the rooms. We had heavy rains the day of departure and the lower floor rooms flooded with raw sewage. Those people had to climb over balcony walls to get out of the rooms. Not sure if they got refunds or not. If you stay there, definitely ask for higher room in case this happens again. There are alot of hotels in that area to choose from-recommend avoiding this place.
