We just returned from a two night stay at the Iroquois. It was lovely. We booked a deluxe waterfront room. It was on the second floor, and had a sitting area with two comfortable chairs that we spent some time just enjoying the the view of the lake from. You could, also, enjoy the sound of the horse drawn carriages on Main Street. It was wonderful to have windows that opened to the sounds of the waves lapping the shore. Very quiet at night. I must say, that our stay was mid-week, and after the main tourist season. Mid Sept. was a great time for the visit. Most of the people leave the island after being there for just a day this time of year. Lots of sales at the shops, trying to get rid of inventory before the season ends. You definitely feel the end of the season coming.
The Iroquois is an old hotel, so you do hear more sounds coming from the hallway and surrounding rooms than you would in a newer hotel, but other than that, no complaints. The stay is very nice, coffee is available in the lobby from 6:30 in the morning, the linens are really nice. We didn't care about the TV, never turned it on, but did note it was small.
We would stay here again, the location was just perfect, just at the end of the main street businesses. Keep in mind, that just about anything on the main drag is a short walk. The Grand is up the hill and away from shops and restaurants. Not as convenient for the way we like to see the attractions. The Iroquois hotel is just steps away from two of the ferry docks. The hotel staff is waiting to take your luggage when you arrive at the dock. Check in was a breeze.
We enjoyed the hotel completely.
