“Fantastic homecooked breakfast, nice patio, tent, coy pond”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

The hotel is on the main street in Ludington and within walking distance of restaurants and shops. The rooms are older and somewhat small, but they are very clean and have refrigerators. The breakfast is unbelievably good - homecooked, great selection of items. They also sell wine and you can taste before you buy. They have a beautiful outdoor sitting area with a large tent, comfortable chairs, deck and coy pond.

“Great Place to Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

My wife and I spent two nights here, and we could not have been happier. The service was great, the rooms were clean and spacious, the grounds were beautiful, and the complimentary breakfasts...well they were beyond description. Of special note for the breakfast should be the home-made bread!

We will return to Ludington someday, and our decision for accomodations has already been made!!

“A gem in Ludington, MI”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

We had a most wonderful 2 night stay at the Four Seasons Lodging and Breakfast, enjoying the hospitality of inn keepers Keith and Suzette and staff. Attention to detail is apparent here, the room (while not brand new) was nicely appointed, comfortable and very clean. It is rather European in feeling. More like a bread and breakfast than a motel. I loved the no pet rule as I am allergic to the cute little things :) The breakfast room is very modern and comfortable and the homemade breads and frittatas were very special. Coffee was Sumatran, rich and smooth. The atmosphere was very friendly for the guests. Loved the real coffee mugs, silverware, plates. Very eco friendly. The gardens, waterfall, pond and comfortable places to gather outdoors was a lovely surprise also. More than anything, the warmth and caring shown to guests by the inn keepers is memorable. We will happily return. Oh, they even have wine tastings in the afternoon :) Try this place :)

Room Tip: We had the smallest room, which is fine for 2 people who are only there for a couple of days. All...

“Good Choice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

We stayed here one night and found it to be very clean, welcoming, and comfortable. The added attractions of wine sampling and a delicious home cooked breakfast made it a great place to stay at a wonderful price. The hosts were very friendly and offered excellent dinner suggestions.

We reserved 4 weeks ahead and got a "Deluxe Queen Suite" for $109 plus taxes. We used the website and also internet reviews to decide. The homemade breakfasts and the gardens areas were the big draw. We did not really price compare. (And the 2 or so "chains" in town had some nasty reviews with regard to cleanliness...ugh). We were here for a 2 night "wedding weekend" and wanted to be able to relax between events. We wanted a 1-level "mom and pop" place but not at the water as we Lake MI beaches at home! Other wedding guests could not get rooms, due to being last minute...or to price. $240/night per a wedding guest from Lansing who decided to just come for a day trip instead. The breakfast frittata/casseroles...superb...think mine had some ricotta or maybe goat cheese in it. The toasted homemade bread...again superb. Coffee or tea is in "real" mugs and you can take to your room or the garden, if desired. This IS NOT any old little lobby breakfast! Our Ludington buddy stopped for an hour visit out in the gardens and was highly impressed, decompressing with us before the ceremony! We were not in a hurry this weekend and really had time to enjoy these surroundings. We were okay without a closet and wanted the room extra space but surprised the hanging clothes rack was not more convenient to the bathroom but this might have originally been a two-bed room. The rack was loose and we reported it upon check-out. We did think housekeeping should have caught that since there no closet this is n important feature! The small bath had a large shower and the 5'11" spouse was fine with it; did wish the bathroom shelf did not protrude so far over the sink (spouse bumped head if not careful). Also, knew from the website to expect small bath. I would suggest hanging hooks on the wall behind the entry door or maybe a hall-tree. This is NOT a fancy place...just very relaxing for a couple. We did not need TV or Wi-Fi...except to check out the hurricane on the weather channel...and were fine with that. If we had realized how great the garden area was (and the tent-cover part) we could have easily had our own little wine and cheese party with a few of the wedding guests were looking forward to seeing again! Also, a sun-room/library was great and made for extra space to get away to. I am certain the owners would have been accommodating. I'm not so sure we would bring little kids here...unless they were very Zen-like kids... No game room, no spa, no work-our area that we were aware of...we figure it's western Michigan in the summer...you get all that outdoors!

Room Tip: Our room was quite quiet along the back of the complex farthest away from the main street.
