I've stayed here several times in the past when it was part of the Radisson chain and loved it but no more. Despite being virtually the only guests in the hotel (there were never more than a dozen cars in the parking lot and some of those had to be staff) we didn't get a housekeeping visit for the entire four day stay. On the second day we saw the housekeeping cart down the hall and were hopeful but when we returned the room hadn't been touched and when we called we were told the staff had gone home. I had to argue with the front desk person just to get a roll of toilet paper on the third day. I've chosen this hotel in the past because of the location but there are plenty of other hotels in the area and they will get my business

I really enjoyed my stay at this Holiday Inn location. We were flying out of the Detroit Metro airport, and we wanted to in Detroit so we wouldn't have to travel so far the day of our flight. I loved the decor- and the architecture of the hotel. There were lots of parties going on in the pool area but we were not disrupted by noise at all. I know that it was recently converted to a Holiday Inn from a Radisson, so we had the pleasure of having SleepNumber beds.
Great stay overall and loved the location being so close to Bar Louie. I was able to meet up with a friend there. Great hotel!

When I first walked in the door to this hotel, I was quite impressed. There is a very nice indoor area with a pool, jacuzzi, pool tables, restaurant and trendy lounge. However, I walked into our first room and it stunk like cigarette smoke. I went downstairs to the front desk to see if I could get a "non-smoking" room and they explained to me that they were all non-smoking. They did change me however, to the room next door, which still stunk but I didn't want to complain again so I just put up with it.. that is until the heater wasn't working and it was 40 degrees outside. I called the front desk and they sent someone up to look at it (20minutes later). I was shivering under the covers until he came and it was a broken heater. Then the front desk guy gave me a minor attitude about having to put us in a third room. The third room didn't smell bad and the heat was working so it was fine until I tried to call the front desk in the morning and the phone didn't work. I wanted to call down to see if they had breakfast (which they did), but I saw it as I ran out the door when I checked out.

Stayed here for four nights over Easter holiday while in town visiting family. This was one of four hotel chains we stayed at during a cross country trip, paid much more for this stay than any other on the trip and did not feel I got value for the money. Two of the four nights we had NO maid service, had to go to front desk and beg for towels, coffee for the in room coffee maker, etc. They accused me of not "declaring" our pet at check in; when I showed them PROOF that I did make it known when I made the reservation, they were very rude about it, as if we were harboring a criminal in our room. (I followed the same procedure at the other three hotel chains on this trip and they all knew about, and had absolutely no issue with, our pet). Except for the night before Easter, we basically had the whole place to ourselves as we rarely encountered another guest. Seems that since we were practically the only guests they had, they would have treated us with a little bit of service. Pool was ice cold and we barely could swim. Room was okay; Sleep Number bed was "eh", slept better on a pillow top innerspring at a cheaper hotel. Overall, we were only at this place for the indoor pool for our daughter, (and as I said, it was too cold for her to swim in), so next time through, I think we'll pass.
