Our room had bed bugs and the breakfast spot was awful; juice machine broken, waffle iron broken. It consisted of bread and coffee. It says free breakfast on the sign outside; but it was pretty pathetic.

I'm a military veteran. I've slept in vehicles and on the ground for years. I would rather sleep in the parking lot than at this hotel. Here's the information:
A group of 150 people (75 rooms) booked a buy out to this establishment. We do this once a month and while a terrific group of adults, the parties are loud, last all night, and get adult themed rowdy. That's why we buy out the hotel. The hotel decided it was safe and wise to put a family of 5 in the middle of the party area. We complained, the manager refused to work with us and the potential for mental harm to the children was very likely. After talking with a very angry mother, making her some deals, and paying for relocation, the group of customers were able to move the family.
Management: Although available (came to our private party way too much.), was unwilling to accomodate simple request like heat and water (yes it was missing). His quote was if you were the manager what would you do?
Workforce: Not trained at all, butt willing to work. Cleaning crew were all related to manager and had a difficult time communicating with the handful of rooms that were even occupied.
Rooms: We were staying for three days and were given two towels. Old 1970's furniture and orange carpeting and drapes that could tell too many stories, I'm sure.
Location: Perfect for us, however it is at the junction of two highways---not much traffic noise. This is actually a positive.
Bottome line: we will not return to this establishment unless absolutely necessary. rude rude rude management.
I spent the month of November at this hotel while I was working in Lansing. The room I was given was clean and very comfortable. It had all the amenities that I needed, a small refrigerator and microwave. The Atrium pool area was incredible. The live trees were giving housekeeping some grief since it was fall but I saw housekeeping vacumming the falling leaves everyday. Breakfast was nice for a contentintal breakfast. The staff was friendly and courteous the entire time I was there. When my wife and son came to visit one weekend the staff brought a rollaway into my room and made my family feel welcome.
I wish I would have read the reviews prior to booking with Hotels.com......I have been to Day's Inn all over and some in VERY remote areas and NEVER had any issues. My husband and I were horrified by the condition of the rooms ( we went to 3 different ones prior to just leaving without a refund). The third room still had a faint musty/mildew smell but we thought we'd be able to make it through one night until I went into the bathroom and saw the muddy tub with hair, etc. I am happy to say that for $20 more we were able to stay at the quality inn on the other side of the street which also included a hot breakfast in the morning. DO NOT waste your money with this hotel. I guess we paid NOT to stay here....
I stayed at the Days Inn while visiting some friends in Lansing. I chose the hotel for its good price and location, but I was surprised to see how nice it was. They have a cool atrium with a great pool and hot tub and they had free breakfast in the morning. The beds were really comfy too. It was a lot nicer than I had expected.
