Typically when we have a convention in town we stay at the connected hotel but this year we thought we'd try a few miles away and we were very happy with our choice. From the downtown convention center it's just a few exits down (hotel is exit 1, convention center exit 5) which just took minutes and we found little to no traffic so it worked out well. Country Inn was a lot cheaper, you got free breakfast, larger room with refrigerator and microwave and free non-valet parking. To us it was worth the short drive.
Just a couple small things kept me from rating this trip a 5. The biggest one for me was water pressure and shower head. It was okay, adequate I guess but could have been better. Second issue which the hotel can probably only control somewhat was noisy people in the hall about 1:30 a.m., I can tell you they were in room 319 because they were shouting it down the hall. And a small issue but if things that clash drive you crazy the topper on the window and wall paper boarder might drive you crazy. I only mention it because it was a pretty bad mis/match.
But those things aside it was a great stay. We had a King suite which was large with a roomy feel. We did use the refrigerator and microwave which worked out great to have meals in the room. The first night of our two night stay the hot tub in the pool area was not "hot", just barely warm but the second night it was REALLY hot so there was a bit of inconsistency there but my husband enjoyed it both nights anyway.
I would stay there again.
