We've stayed here before with minimal trouble, but not overly thrilled. We decided to give it another try. The first night was fine, although we asked for a cot and there was absolutely no way the cot would fit in the room. We had to sort of stick the cot mattress between the two beds. The next morning the pool was closed. The only reason we were staying at a hotel was so we could get a quick winter getaway weekend to swim and use the hot tub. We were told that the chemicals were off and that it could be a while. When the pool was finally ready, it was ice cold. It takes about 12 or more hours to heat a pool that size. I personally wouldn't find it relaxing to swim in an ice cold pool. One of the managers, Neville, was fantastic. She tried her best to accommodate us. She said she would try to extend our check out time the next day and give us a little discount. That night, there were several children running, screaming, and bouncing a basketball until I had finally had enough at about 11:45 pm. I called the front desk and was told it would be taken care of. After 15 more minutes, the kids were still running around so I went out and handled it myself. The parents of these children had the two rooms across the hall from us and were in and out of their rooms, slamming the doors all hours of the night. Finally after we had just fallen asleep, the fire alarm went off. No hotel personnel had come by to tell us it was safe to go back to our rooms so I had to go to the front desk myself. Now while I understand it wasn't the hotels fault that parents don't control their children, I had to sign something saying that my child would be quiet by a certain time of the evening. Not that I would allow my children to be so disrespectful. The Holiday Inn should have insisted that since they didn't abide by the contract of controlling their children, they needed to leave. After getting about 2 hours sleep, the people across the hall started their door slamming again and we just decided to leave. I didn't want the extended stay at that point. I was disappointed that they do not enforce their own policies. Otherwise, this hotel is very nice. I just recommend that you do not stay on the weekends and you check to see how many birthday parties are going to be held there before booking your stay.
