I know hotels. I'm a Hilton Diamond, Hyatt Diamond and Marriott something or other. I travel for business. When I'm not in a hotel it means I'm on vacation or it is Thanksgiving or Christmas weeks.
The hotel staff is friendly and efficient. Its a pity that they have a substandard property to deal with.
If my room is indicative of the others then this is one of the more plain and soul-draining hotels I've been in. When I open the door and step in, it is so depressing. Plain beige walls, no picture to be seen, dinky table, two chairs and a TV.
Tolerable but sure is an invitation to get back outside. At least I'm on the quiet side of the hotel opposite I94. I'm not much into the hotel pools and hot tubs but if I were, this one has a broken hot tub. No prognosis I've heard on when it will be repaired.
And a word about the breakfasts. I saw someone's review that said it was wonderful. Really? I suppose so if your tastes run towards the more pedestrian foods. Waffle maker, outmeal, toaster oven, juice machine, pre-fab eggs and potatos, boxes of cereals. Nothing much out of the ordinary with one exception.
You know how this type of hotel has the covered bowl on the counter with the sliced fruit? Yep, this hotel also. They do it differently. They allow the fruit to turn and actually begin to ferment in its own juices. I picked out some of the peach slices and took a photo of them (yes, it is posted). They were brown and had lost all of their peachy-consistency. They were now nasty brown squishy things that were unfit for eating. That someone would even think that this vile swill was suitable for human consumption was beyond belief. The piece of cantalope that I placed on the plate for color contrast seemed fresher. But after stewing in the spoiled mash of fruit juices in the bowl I wasn't about to eat it.
This franchise operation needs a visit from a corporate inspector.
Room Tip: Stick with the toast and cereal. Approach the fruit with caution.
