“Great beds, helpful staff, lovely service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

This is the 2nd time I have stayed here on business in the last year. On both occasions, a person immediately came outside to offer to valet park my car (which I accepted), help with my luggage, and open the front doors (very nice after flying all day). The young woman at the Front Desk was extremely gracious. Finally, the beds are great! I would definitely stay here again.

“Up and down”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

I really liked the rooms, they did feel kinda like home, there was a few experiances that I wouldnt wish on anyone..... A girl from Vancouver B.C that works at the front desk was very rude to me, thank God Ive matured as much as I have and Im older now and know how to deal with that sort of thing because a year ago she most likely woulda got yelled at and I probably woulda have used mean words and I may have been kicked out of the hotel. Two days ago I was just waking up and going downstairs for coffee when a woman standing by the elevator asked me to get her towels, she got really mad when I told her to call the front desk.... Then I realized she thought I worked in the hotel, I mean I just woke up and I may have looked a little rough but I didnt have a name tag on and it was very akward I guess you can saw, I ate everyday at Burdicks and everyone in that resturaunt is awesome and the fish and chips were my favorite I think I ate them litterally 8 times in the 7 days ive been here.
This morning I met a woman at the front desk named Ashley Spehr, she was very nice and I was very thankful for her to be there because the mean lady from Vancouver is usually at the desk during the day and Ive been avoiding her, I have Homes in both Arizona and Nevada so this was my vacation I just wanted to go to a place that was quiet and not so busy.... I have familliy here and I am gonna be opening a business here soon but if not for meeting Ashley today I would never stay in this Hotel again.... I would suggest the radisson to anyone interested in coming to kalamazoo, I just hope that you dont have similar incidents as me.... Thank you very much Ashley Spehr

Room Tip: stay away from the girl from vancouver at the front desk, shes very mean!!!!

“Amazing Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

The Radisson Hotel feels like a home away from home. My room was just okay, but the service of the staff put this hotel over the top. They are willing to put your needs first, even if they are in the middle of a task. The valet guys offered to help me take my luggage up to my room without me even asking. At check-in the girl Ashley was genuinely nice and friendly. Most times at check-in people just oput on a fake smile to get through the day. Despite being busy she took the time to hold a conversation with me about her hometown. My kids go to Gobles as while, so it excited them to talk about our small town. As check-out was speedy and smooth the valet guys had my car waiting for my family, they had even warmed at car so we didn't have to drive is a cold car. Keep up the amazing service Radisson!

“Great stay, disappointed in room type”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

Stayed here for one night on business. I actually was taking advantage of a Carlson promotion. Check-in was easy and front desk agent friendly. I was initially assigned 2 double beds, but called down and got 2 queens. No king room available at all.
The room was fairly nice. 6th floor. Great touch to have a nice-sized bathroom with large counter space. Room was fairly quiet. Wifi was free and the signal was better than average to do work. My 2 disappointments with the room were lack of power strip / outlets (I want lots of them), and lack of LCD tv.
I ate at Old Burdick's Bar & Grill, which was also good for bar food (burger).
Parking ramp is across the street - connected by a skyway. Even though the rate was a bit high, it was an above average stay overall.

“By far the best property in Kalamazoo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

It's a solid 4, but given the competition in Kalamazoo, I'm bumping it up to a 5. It's in good shape with spacious rooms, nice amenities, and good service. Rates are reasonable considering what you get.

While the finishes in the rooms are standard for a decent business hotel, they offer plenty of space to spread out - in some rooms the bathroom almost felt too big. The jacuzzi rooms were especially fun although it's a bit disconcerting having a hot tub in the middle of your bed room. That said, it was nice to be able to watch TV while soaking in a hot bath.

The gym was nicely appointed with several cardio options, dumbbells, barbell (a pleasant surprise for a hotel gym), and a circuit of nautilus machines. There's also a very nice indoor pool with a good-looking water feature. Access to the gym used to be complimentary with a stay. I think they might have started charging toward the end of my time there - that would certainly be disappointing.

There's a coffee shop, a couple of gift shops, and two restaurants on the property. Zazios is higher-end Italian, and Old Burdick is a more of a bar with lots of seating and TVs.

Service was consistently good. When things would go wrong (as they invariably will during extended stays) hotel management did a good job of resolving problems quickly and to my satisfaction.

The location in downtown Kalamazoo puts it in convenient walking distance from lots of dining and shopping options.

Room Tip: Jacuzzi rooms are fun if you don't mind having a hot tub in the middle of your bedroom.
