Stayed for one night in March 2011. Room was clean, but they still use a sort of bedspread (not at duvet). TV was old and not only low def but blurry. Fridge and microwave in regular king room. Despite 5 lamps the room seemed dark. Fan like noise in bathroom never turned off. Toilet had "sanitized for your protection banner" on it (haven't seen one of those in a while). Used fitness center--nice equipment but windowless stale room. Breakfast fare was the usual. They only have Wall Street Journals there--need to have USA Today as well.
My two teenage daughters and I stayed one night at this location along with a friend and her teenage son. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. We had a couple of requests that were handled immediately. Breakfast was typical. This place is great for a short stay.
There are advantages and disadvantages to traveling without reservations, and I won't go into them here, but obviously the major disadvantage is that you take what you can get. Usually in smaller towns that's not a problem, but there was road work in Jackson and the workers were filling up the motels. We prefer one bed, small room, as cheap as possible. We had to take a 'suite' here: bedroom with an ante-room. But one thing about Comfort Inn, if you can't have the cheap room they'll give a break on the better one. $90 for a very nice room. Hotel is new, all the bells and whistles. Good breakfast, friendly people, very clean room. My deduction of one star for cleanliness is because we had the room right over the front door, and guess where people smoke? Right. They should make smokers move away from the motel. It was fine when I closed the window, but this is one motel where you can open the window and not have road noise keep you awake. Other than that, great place.
We travel to Jackson 4-6 times per year. We decided to try a new hotel, and chose this one. Fair price, clean room. We were able to hear some noise from a party somewhere else in the hotel. Decent breakfast. We will sty here again. Small problem with the wifi, may have been related to a bad storm.
