While a bit pricey, the AmericInn in Iron River (as with all AmericInn motels I've stayed at) provides a comfortable room and nice amenities. The rooms are large and clean and the beds comfy. The staff was friendly. The lobby area is quite nice, with coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and hot cider always available. The free breakfast selection includes belgian waffles, cereal, pastries, hard-boiled eggs, and even potatoes and biscuits and gravy (I wouldn't recommend the potatoes, however).
The motel is adjacent to the snowmobile trail, which is a plus or a minus, depending on your point of view. We only heard a few snowmobiles after dark.
It's about a 15 minute drive to Ski Brule, and a number of restaurants are nearby. I'm a former local, so here's my recommendations: Riverside for pizza, Alice's for a nice Italian dinner, Mr. T's (or Fob's in Crystal Falls) for a diner style lunch. Also check out Bigari's Ace Hardware on the south side of Iron River for a little shopping-if they don't have it, you don't need it!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay and enjoyed the breakfast. It's very convenient with the snowmobile trails out our back door. Thank you for choosing the AmericInn of Iron River and we hope to see you again soon.
