What is great about this place is location. You can walk to some Houghton musts, like visiting the Keweenaw Brewing Company, the Douglas House and the Library. Those are just three of our favorites.

Just went snowmobiling here. it was cold and bumpy. ended up landing at Mt.Bohemia and climbed to the top and enjoyed the view with Heather. About 2 feet of snow at the top, 1 ft at bottom. Ended up in copper city for new years.

Service:
Pool: sauna that works great, warm pool, hot hot tub
Parking: snowmobile parking good and truck and trailer at bridge, get a drink on your way back at the DT

Breakfast: waffels with yougurt and donuts and coffee to get it goin

I was booked at the travelodge houghton, when my wife & I arrived we wanted to see the room , we went up and looked ,the beds looked like they just were slept in. the mattress had big indentations. the bathroom was not clean & the room smelled musty. we refused to stay there ,so i went down to the desk and cancelled ,they refused to give me back my money I booked thru hotels.com. they gave me back one day& said if i called back the next day & the room had been rented out they would give me a full refund ,they said the room had not been rented so i lost one day. So i booked with another hotel in Houghton, the room was very clean & overlooked portage lake. I would never recommend this hotel to any one. they need to completely remodel the whole hotel. by the way the hotel I stayed at was the magnason.

As soon as we entered the room we were hit with a nasty, musty smell...like cat urine. The room was dark and out of date, not very clean looking or smelling. We immediately checked back out.
The desk clerk however was very accommodating with canceling our reservation, giving us a full refund, which he did not have to do.
