My friend and I decided to come to grand rapids to visit family... And stayed in This motel and it is the worst place i had ever stayed.. The rooms are horrible.. The Tv didn't work, The walls are thin so you hear every possible, the room smells really bad and when we arrived it was filthy.. the room is set up in the most un-convenient way. and the staff is horrible.. the shower fills up with water while your using it. and you get woke up to construction at 8 in the morning!! There is so much more that is wrong with this place that it sure isn't funny.. I don't recommend anyone stay at the GrandMark Lodging.. i got sick because of the mold smell. it's Gross

This property was close to my friend's workplace so she suggested my daughter and I stay there while we visited. She didn't know what it was like as she had only driven by.
The office area was sparse, unkempt, and had an odd smell. The buildings were run down and the staff in attendance spoke very little English. His son was called so I could tell him I wanted to take a look at the room before booking in. It was 12:30 am and we were tired. I told him I needed a clean room. While driving around to my room I noted several people standing in open doorways with money in hand. The room was tidy, but had an odd smell. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the room itself had a very unwelcoming atmosphere. My daughter felt uneasy in the room and so did I. We said no thank you and left. We did give the place a chance by actually looking through the room and bathroom, but I really don't think I would stay there if paid money. My friend went by earlier to see if I had arrived and later apologised to me for sending me there. She was just as turned off to the place as I was. We went down the road to the Travelodge. My review of that stay is under the appropriate title.
