We've come back year after year. It was once a Marriott Residence Inn and doesn't quite make it up to the standards set forth by that company. However, the room is spacious and you can live like you're at home. There's also a complimentary breakfast that includes eggs, waffles, and sometimes breakfast meats.
The staff is very eager to please and there's no reason to go anywhere else.

We have been staying here for the past 5+ years each December for a night mid-week. This used to be a Residence Inn and was always kept up to Marriott's high standards. Last year was the first year we stayed here with the new management/name. It was fine then. This year, the breakfast was below standards, the rooms weren't as clean (found a towel behind the bathroom door from previous tenant) and all in all just not what we were used to. Sad to say next year we'll probably move to another hotel.

The room was actually an efficiency apartment, well appointed for someone ready to stay longer than one night. The shower/tub were good, average cleanliness, fine towels. The bedding was good, double sheeted, queen size bed, a comfortable sofa though the TV was standard. The kitchen had a dishwasher, table, chairs, microwave and coffee pot.
These "apartments" each have separate entries, and they are tricky to find. The desk, manned with very helpful staff, would serve clients well with a drawn map.
The furnace is loud, but not a bother to everyone, it does heat up quickly, and I noticed someone commented on room being cold. I found the floors drafty. A nice feature in December was the heat lamp in the bathroom.
It is in a high traffic area so it can be noisy, but I found that not to be a problem. We had food delivered from a list of restaurants brought to us by desk clerk.
The breakfast is quite complete with eggs, sausages, English muffins, waffles, coffee and real half-half though in room coffee makers have powdered whitener. I noticed there is also an excercise room. All in all it was plesant and it just depends on what kind of accomodations one prefers. We were traveling with a number of family members for a graduation and it would have been more convenient, for us had we known, to be in a hotel with a central hallway where we could have visited back and forth. For someone traveling with kids having the large space and furniture would probably be helpful.
If you order food delivered be sure to ask when it will be arriving. Our food came 1 hour and 40 minutes after ordering though the delivery man was very pleasant even though he had to make two calls to us from the parking lot in order to find our unit.

We stayed here this past weekend for the GVSU graduation. It was dark out and the sign was very difficult to see because it didn't light up, so you have to look for for the SmashBurger sign across the street (whatever that is!). The room was a bit tricky to find, but was a nice size with a comfortable bed, a fully equipped kitchen and a large mirror area outside the bathroom that made it easy to get ready in the morning while husband showered. The drawbacks were that we were in the front building and could hear street noise, the heat wouldn't regulate and I finally just turned it off, and the pull out couch bed was old and very uncomfortable. The desk staff were very accommodating and the breakfast was a bonus. The hotel is located in an area with a lot of stores and restaurants and Friday's was in walking distance. My sister stayed on the first floor and her room had a fireplace. Again, far from luxury, and only comfortable for 2 people max per room, but a decent value.
