I payed for the 3 night deal with my card. The room smelled like a cheap motel, the bed was sorry and woke up with a back ache! Oh well, I figured you get what you pay for. When I came back for the second night I found my key didn't work so I had the desk clerk re-key it only to find they rented it to someone else! They cleaned out the items I had in the fridge and wouldn't replace them. Well they gave me anouther room of course but how does someone re-rent a room that's been payed for already. I wouldn't stay there ever again!!

After driving all day and part of the night we checked into the Grand Rapids Inn around 9PM.
We had seen pictures of this motel on the Travel Michigan site. It showed attractive, clean rooms.
This is the negative experience we had:
1-The clerk ran our card for three nights instead of holding it as other motels do, so we could pay cash on check out. This was before we was the room.
2-The room had no blankets
3-the heater did not work
4-there was a gooey substance on the headboard
5-the bathroom ceiling was peeling off in clumps
6-the TV cable kept falling off and when it was on the TV barely worked.
7-The room smelled of mildew
8-The shower/bath was too filthy to bathe in
9-There were holes in the mattress cover
They refused to refund our money, even though we did not stay 3 days.
10-The clerk stood in front of a sign and then moved when we wanted our money refunded to show us the sign stated "no refunds"
11-The sink counter was falling off the wall and was partially repaired with caulk and had areas full of dirt.
12-The walls were dirty and marred.
