“I wouldn't stay there again if they paid me $100.00 a night!”

This hotel is across the steeet from a vacent run down paking lot. Not a nice area. The beds are horrible. Pillows were even worse and there wasn't much bedding. There morning breakfast is bad the to go cups for coffee are tiny thimble size. There are no other cups or mugs to use. The amount of urine on the bathroom floor was nasty. Run a rag on the floor and you will see.The place is scary!

“Grand stay in Grand Rapids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2007

We tried to check in early but our room wasn't ready so when we returned around 9p there were no non-smoking kings available and we were upgraded to a suite.
The hotel and accommodations were great.
The only problem was that it took the desk clerk at least a half hour and a call to the manager at home to get us registered. Apparently there was some problem with the computer not allowing the change to the suite.

“clean and comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 April 2007

This is a basic hotel, no frills, and not close to anything. However, it is within a few minutes of everything. It is a new hotel, and is very clean. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The front desk people are very nice, and the vending is also above average. The wireless access is free. I travel weekly for business all over, and I would stay here again.

  • Liked — cleanliness of hotel and room
  • Disliked — lack of onsite restaurant

“One of the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2007

Everthing was incredibly flawless. Being from Illinois we were looking for a ski resort (despite the unseasonably low temperatures) that was not too far and was open or making snow. We needed one that offered ski, snowboard AND tubing. We finally found a 5 1/2 hour drive to Rockford, Michigan called Pando. We stayed downton Grand Rapids at the Country Inn and Suites. The experience from the time that I made the reservations on the phone to the time we checked out was probably the best hotel experience I have ever had. They were very accomodating on the phone and gave us excellent rates for executive suites so we reserved 3 suites for 2 nights. They were very customer service focused. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to find the cleanest hotel that I have ever been in. There was none of the dirt caked in the grout of the bathroom or anything. It was totally spotless. The beds were comfortable, the pillows were great. The continental breakfast was great as well. The pool area was nice and clean. The hot tub was really warm. The exercise room was right next to the pool and was very convenient. The front desk was so accomodating and made recommendations for restaurants and places to go. We went to "The Bob" which was right down the road from the hotel. Highly recommended as it has comedy clubs, nightclubs, restaurants, sports bars, bands, and anything else you might need for entertainment. All of this is inclusive in one big building. The comedy club "Dr. Grins" was a fun experience. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed ourselves in Grand Rapids and much was because we were in a nice, clean, and comfortable hotel where staff were very customer service focused. Highly recommended.

  • Liked — Absolutely everything!
  • Disliked — Everything was perfect
  • Tips/Secrets — The steakhouse at the BOB was very expensive. If you want to eat somewhere that is more reasonable, go to the sports bar upstairs.
