Comfort Suites, South, Grand Rapids, Michigan provided us superb accomodations at a very good price. This is a cut above your normal hotel -- oversize room refrigerator with microwave, extra counter space in the bathroom, night light in the bathroom, and large room. Separate area in room for table and sofa bed. There was no road noise. There is a pool and hot tub, but we didn't try it because of lots of kids with noise and splashing. Very good breakfast, but it takes persistance to get to the food through all the middle school kids lingering at the buffet. The rooms were quiet. The greatest shortcoming is the absence of eating places near the hotel. There is a full service gas station and big convenience store just out of the parking lot.

The hotel was clean and convenient, and my room was very comfortable. The staff happily accommodated my request to be put in a quiet area of the building away from large groups.

However, the alarm clock was broken, and my requested wake-up call did NOT happen. Luckily, I woke up early. Also, the exterior door near my room was broken and would not lock - woukld not even close properly, in fact. Anyone could have entered the hotel from this side entrance (away from the front desk!). I pointed this out to the desk clerk and she informed me that there was a security camera on that area - she did not seem concerned. As a female traveling along, I was not pleased. Finally, the breakfast shut down at 9:30! I was in town for a sporting event and had planned to come back, shower, and eat before heading home. No such luck. I took a bowl of cereal to my room for later, but it wasn't as satisfying as a full breakfast.

We stayed at the Comfort Suites-South in Grand Rapids, MI two nights and were really happy with our stay. The rooms were very clean and fresh. The hotel looked as if it were new. The staff was very nice and friendly. The continental breakfast was good.
There were two waffle makers available and there were biscuits and gravy also. We will definitely stay there again when we are in the area.

Rooms were spacious and clean: two queen beds and sofa sleeper. Service was superb. Lobby and breakfast room were spacious and the breakfast was deluxe: waffles, yogurt, bagels, juice, eggs, biscuits and gravy. Large heated pool, sauna and whirlpool were well-maintained and CLEAN. Close to downtown Grand Rapids ie. John Ball Zoo, Meijer Gardens, Gerald Ford Museum, Craig's Cruisers. This was our second stay, and we'll be back again!
