“Good for a night or two”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2012

I stayed there with a friend while in town for a bowling tournament. The room was clean, but small. They have sleep number beds and the control for mine did not work. A friend staying across the hall also had that problem. Tried to was my face before bed and could not get hot water, tepid at best. We enjoyed the spa in the evening, and the breakfast buffet was very good.

“Get Away”

My husband and I stayed 4 nights and had a wonderful visit. The room was clean and the staff was professional, polite and accommodating. We didn't use the pool, so we can't rate it, but the hotel had just reopened it from a 2 week maintenance downtime period. Seems they take care of it. It looked nice and smelled clean. Our tub drained extremely slowly the first night, so we asked if maintenance would take a look at it. They jumped right on it and took care of the issue very quickly.

We booked through getaroom.com. I DO NOT recommend that booking website! Days before we were to travel, we began getting calls and e-mails from someone with the website saying the hotel wouldn't honor the reservations we had made 2 months prior. We called the hotel and explained the situation to them, and were assured the reservations were intact, and there were no issues on their end. We called the number on the website and explained the e-mail, and the representative (someone other than the person from whom we received the e-mails) had no idea what we were talking about. We conversed with the website through e-mail 3 different times, the whole time we were told my reservations were no longer valid. When we arrived and cautiously verified we had a room, the gentleman that checked us in asked what was up. He lowered our room price and even gave us the first night free!

My husband and I don't care if this hotel was Radisson when we booked the room and sold off by the time we arrived. It is an older, but nicely kept hotel that we highly recommend. We would definitely stay at this hotel again, but we will NOT use getaroom.com!

Room Tip: Ask for a business class suite. The rooms are much larger than the typical room.

“Great Stay, we actually liked the place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 April 2012

We had no problems with this hotel at all. Our room was clean, the bed was good. We stayed the weekend from fri April 13 to Sun 15. The first night we got there, was great. The hotel has a bar attached to it. The band that played there was great, and the dance floor was packed. I couldn't believe i was at a hotel. The next day we got up and did some shopping. Came back and hung out by the indoor pool. It is very large - the water wasn't the warmest, but there was also a big hot tube. After relaxing for a bit, we got changed, grabbed a cab (costed us 10 bucks each way) and went down town. We heard about this bar called "The Bob". WELL< it is a must go to. We ate dinner there, played pool, watched the band, then went downstairs to one of the bars in this warehouse and danced all night. It was one of the best times i've had in awhile.
The hotels downtown can range anywhere from 140 to 200 a night. I booked this hotel on "bookings.com". Payed 89 a night + taxes ofcourse. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. We are going to visit GR again this summer. I will say, i am from Ontairo, we just decided to take a road trip with another couple. Good Times, Great weekend.

Room Tip: there is a river view and another view, i didn't see the other view, as we had the river view...

“not much.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 April 2012

well, i found out after booking that its not even a radisson hotel any longer; its gone private and is now known as the Riverfront Hotel. I stayed there for 4 nights while attending an in-service class. The cable channels are few, there are no movie channels. No refridgerators in most rooms for $5 a night. Mine took 2 days to get one that worked but they tried to bill me for all 4 days until i complained. They have sleep number beds, which i have at home and found the bed to be the best thing there. They have live entertainment which i saw once, and it wasn't bad. the restaurant is ok for breakfast, but that's all i ate there. there's not much in the immediate area unless you like warehouses. the shopping area are about 2-3 miles away and the nearst mall is about 12 miles away. the elevator is old and slow, and i had to pay $20 more a night than a friend did who booked a few days earlier, though they weren't nearly full. i looked at the pool and it appeared to be clean and rarely used. i never saw more than 4 people in there, and there is a sauna which was turned off and appeared seldomly used.

Room Tip: ask for a riverview room, they're bigger, much bigger, and have a sofa.

“Not that bad.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 March 2012

After reading the reviews, we booked at the Fairfield-Marriott out of town. However, our friends were staying at the Radisson, and had stayed there before. On the previous visit, they had six rooms of people and heard of no complaints. So we hesitantly re-booked at the Radisson. Upon arriving, we learned that the hotel, as of four days earlier, was no longer a Radisson. It is now just the Riverfront. That made me a little nervous, wondering who dropped whom. But I was in three different hotel rooms, and they were all clean. I usually wipe down everything with Clorox wipes before unpacking, and didn't feel a need to do it in our room. Although I feel no hotel room is worth $100/night. this hotel did fit into the hierarchy of hotels. We usually stay at Fairfields or Hamptons, and the amenities at the Riverfront were the cost-step above these hotels. I would give the hotel a 4.5 out of 5, but am giving it a 5 to help in counteracting some of the previous poor reviews. I just didn't see any of these problems.

Room Tip: The fan does not go on and off all night - definite plus. We were on the expressway side, but traff...
