We visited this hotel on a trip to Michigan, and although it was an OK deal for the price, I'd recommend looking elsewhere unless money is your #1 consideration. The price was cheap (~$40 for two people) and the room was OK, but could have been a lot better.
Although we'd heard that the hotel was renovated in 2001, this must have referred only to the outside, since the room iteslf was rather dingy. The walls and bathroom fixtures looked old and grimy. There was no mattress curtain, exposing a nice dirty mattress for you to rub up against when you get into bed. The crown jewel of the hotel room was an empty condom wrapper from a previous guest, which remained on the floor the entire time we were there. Needless to say, I guess they don't vacuum too often.
The service was minimal. The morning that we requested a wakeup call, it never came. When we woke up late and called to ask for a late checkout , that was denied also. When I informed the man of the missed wakeup call, no apology was offered.
It's a place to rest for the night, nothing more. For the same price, you might want to try the Motel 6 up the road in Flint. In my experience, Motel 6s are at least always clean and reliable.
