“Good and bad”

First impression of walking to your room is not a good one. The interior corridor looks very old and in need of restoration. I was pleasantly surprised when I entered the room. The room was remodeled and had newer curtains and furnishings. Room is fairly large with a queen bed plus 2 lounge chairs. The room looks clean with no obvious stains or dirt.
Bathroom is large but has a creaky floor.
Walls are soundproof but noise can be heard in the hallway.
Air conditioning is quiet.
Continental breakfast is average, at best. Good family restaurant is 1 block down the road.
The Alpine Lodge of the other side of town and next to the interstate is a better accommodation but for around $20 higher in price.

“Pay the extra ten bucks a night and sleep elsewhere!!!”

It's cheap. I wasn't expecting it to be the Ritz. I stayed here because they were dog friendly. The room was big. Everything is shabby....stains on carpet, etc. As a young professional I was ok with all of that. What was super annoying was the throng of drunken hillbillies that ran up and down the hall all night. If you are planning on bringing a family here, dont! It would be the most ghetto vacation ever. Good luck trying to get a good night sleep on the weekend...even if I could semi ignore the bass pounding the walls, my dog couldn't and was miserable.

“Yuck”

We booked this place as a last resort because we needed somewhere to stay the night on the way up north. I don't consider myself picky when staying in hotels, but I wish we would have sprung for somewhere else. The room itself appeared to be clean upon first glance, but there were large cobwebs in every corner, stains on the bedding (and it was very thin and worn), and the shower curtain had mildew halfway up it which smelled up the room. But that wasn't even the biggest problem. The walls are extremely thin. A family rolled in around midnight and their children laughed, yelled and cried for almost 2 hours- we heard every single word clearly. I don't think that they were even in the room next to us. I will never stay at another Econolodge again, no matter how cheap it is.

“OK for one night and as a last resort”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2011

The room was large and just satisfactory; though superficially clean, there was a musty smell to it and cobwebs and dirt to be found. The bed sheets were old, thin and worn, and very rough – wear pyjamas! No fridge, no microwave and the air con was not working (though we were advised of this at check in and given the option not to stay). No Wifi, breakfast the bare minimum. Plenty of choices to eat a short drive away. This hotel is basic in all respects and in serious need of a facelift. It’s OK for one night if you’re really stuck, but I personally would check out other options next time.

“Really Needs An Update!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011

Really happy with the price $53 for one room-double beds. Very nice and polite staff. But really needs an update and cleaning! Smelled of an old nursing home and straight urine in the bathroom (very unsanitary). But I guess sometimes you get what you pay for, right?
